Jake Gyllenhaal Will Eternally Profess His Love For You, If You So Please

Jake Gyllenhaal Will Eternally Profess His Love For You, If You So Please

Most promises of eternal gifts come with a catch.

Want to stun the world with a sudden mastery of the guitar, for instance? Well, the Devil is going to want something in return.

The same lesson can be applied to getting swept up in an eternity of Jake Gyllenhaal as he expresses his love for you and only you.

Sound too good to be true? It is.

Like the temptation of eternal life, you’ll soon learn that things only have meaning if they expire at some point.

Jake Gyllenhall reciting his famous “I wish I knew how to quit you” line from Brokeback Mountain only satisfies your emotional needs if it, too, stops.

Because as you’ll soon discover in The Gyllenhalla clip-arty hall of infinite Jake, it’s pretty annoying on a loop.

Oh Jake, you perplexing angel of on high.

Take a cautionary voyage to The Gyllenhall here.

screen-shot-2016-12-02-at-2-52-01-pmTALKING OUT OF YOUR A**. Leah Remini and 50 Cent talk with Andy Cohen about, er, eating out: “If I was a guy and I had that kind of watch and those kind of sneakers and a bitch wanted to lick my ass, I’d let her lick my ass!”

HEALTHCARE. Are Republicans getting cold feet now that they finally have a chance to repeal Obamacare? “Republicans now face the prospect of getting what they have long claimed to want — the chance to repeal Obamacare. But if they do it, they will face the wrath of voters who value their health insurance made possible by Obamacare. And if they do not do it, they will face valid accusations of breaking promises they have been making for six years.”

RIGGED. After claiming for months that the election was rigged, Trump is now fighting recount efforts in the courts.

TRANS SAFETY. Why does Turkey have the highest transgender murder rate in Europe?

screen-shot-2016-12-02-at-3-12-26-pmMOTHER MONSTER. Lady Gaga talks LGBTQ rights before London show: “[We] are going to do everything that we can to protect the social progress we have made over the last eight years. Political progress cannot happen unless there is social progress. You can create lots of jobs, you can create new policy – but those things cannot work unless people like each other, unless people are kind to one another. We need to stay in a kind place and we need to bond during this time, and be as harmonious as possible, and intelligent in the way we approach this.”

BARBIE GIRL. Amy Schumer is in talks to star in a live-action Barbie film: “According to Deadline, the film will center on an imperfect Barbie who lives in Barbieland among the 180-plus Barbie characters, but doesn’t quite fit the mold of the others. Due to the fact that this Barbie is a bit eccentric, she ends up getting kicked out of Barbieland, essentially because she’s not perfect enough.”

Sarah PalinHEAD DOESN’T KNOW WHAT THE TAIL IS DOING. Sarah Palin blasts Trump’s Carrier deal: “In an op-ed for the website Young Conservatives, the former Alaska governor allowed that the details behind the manufacturer’s decision to keep some 1,000 jobs in Indiana at the president-elect’s behest, rather than move them to Mexico, are not yet clear. But touting the value of free markets, Palin signaled her disapproval if it was a case of ‘political intrusion using a stick or carrot to bribe or force one individual business to do what politicians insist.’”

YOU CAN’T STOP THE BEAT. Hairspray Live! releases featurette ahead of Dec. 7 premiere.

undefinedLATE NIGHT. Trevor Noah on the Dakota Access Pipeline: “This pipeline is NSFW: not safe for whites. It’s just interesting to me that the people with the longest history of getting f—ed over in America are the ones who are getting f—ed over. America has spent centuries moving native peoples from place to place. Maybe just this one time, you can be the ones who move.”

FOREIGN POLICY FIASCO. Donald Trump speaks with the president of Taiwan–a country which the United States does not have official diplomatic relations with because of China: “He is believed to be the first president or president-elect who has spoken to a Taiwanese leader since 1979, when the United States severed diplomatic ties with Taiwan after its recognition of the People’s Republic of China.”

Anti-Gay GOP Rep. Says Trump Team Gave Him ‘Assurances’ About ‘Religious Freedom’ Protections

Anti-Gay GOP Rep. Says Trump Team Gave Him ‘Assurances’ About ‘Religious Freedom’ Protections

Steve Russell

Republican Rep. Steve Russell says he has received private assurances from Trump’s team that federal contractors will be granted “religious freedom” protections that would likely enable them to discriminate against workers on the basis of sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

The Oklahoman with a “0” score from the Human Rights Campaign and author of the anti-LGBT Russell amendment on this year’s defense spending bill says he’s feeling good that Trump will make moves in favor of so-called “religious freedom”–moves that could spell disaster for LGBT rights.

BuzzFeed reports:

“These issues will be resolved, and we have gotten some very good assurances moving forward,” Russell said at the Capitol, suggesting Trump could take executive action without waiting for Congress. “I am certainly encouraged by the signs that I am getting from the administration that is inbound.”

Russell said he has “gotten very positive signals” that Trump team would step in where his amendment was blocked, but added that he was not going “to talk strategy or predispose what the executive branch may do,” specifically, on the matter.

Russell went on to insinuate that President Obama’s 2014 executive order–which barred federal contractors from discriminating against employees on the basis of sexual orientation and/or gender identity–could be replaced by a new one from Trump.

Referring to President Obama’s EO, Russell told BuzzFeed, “The vagueness was created by the executive branch, so the executive branch [under Trump] could un-create the vagueness. You reverse it by clarifying a bad executive order with a good one.”

As for the reason why the Russell Amendment was dropped earlier this week, it seems that Republicans think they can get a better deal if they wait til Trump’s installed. Adam Smith, ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee said the amendment’s proponents  “were confident they would have a better environment for a variety of different issues in the new administration.” He added, “It worries me a great deal.”

Commissioner Richard Ross Jr. told Philly.com:

“We really do not have a motive right now, and that’s one of the challenges we’re dealing with. Right now, the victim does not appear to know who would want to harm him. We have had extensive conversations with him.”

California native Alden lives with his partner and had a rainbow “Love Trumps Hate” sign in the front window of his building.

He posted a note on a fundraising page on Tuesday saying he was overwhelmed “at the outpouring of love and support that I’ve received from my partner, family, friends, and coworkers.”

According to the fundraising page, Alden could have been blinded had he not put on his glasses prior to opening the package. He also lost parts of two fingers on his left hand and suffered damage to his face, chest, arms and eardrum.

A $10,000 reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 215-686-TIPS.

You can donate to Alden’s fundraising page here.
