Jamie Dornan Does Not Go Full-Frontal In 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'

Jamie Dornan Does Not Go Full-Frontal In 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'
If you’re someone who took part in questioning whether Ben Affleck’s penis had a cameo in “Gone Girl,” know now that you will not have to repeat this process for a movie where penis cameos may seem like an inevitability: Jamie Dornan has said his genitalia will not make an appearance in “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

“There were contracts in place that said that viewers wouldn’t be seeing my, um…,” Dornan told The Guardian, with a prompt to complete the sentence using “todger,” British slang for “penis.” “Yeah, my todger,” he replied.

When told he’s going the opposite route of the ever-nude Ewan McGregor, Dornan joked that the “Moulin Rouge!” actor must have a “more impressive girth.”

Dornan, who hadn’t read E.L. James’ novel before landing the part of Christian Grey, hinted the “Fifty Shades” sex scenes may not be as explicit as some imagine the “mommy porn” adaptation might feature. A self-described feminist, he assured none of the movie’s sensuality would come across as violence against women or non-consensual sex.

“You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without grossing them out,” he said. “You don’t want to make something gratuitous and ugly and graphic.”

Dornan confirmed the movie won’t be too graphic for his wife to disapprove. “I don’t think we will be watching it together too many times at home, though,” he said.

Maybe they’ll be watching “Gone Girl” instead.

PHOTOS: These Go-Go Boys Want To Seduce You Into The Ballot Box

10482315_10152789602726063_4551100635133833235_nIt isn’t often politics and go-go dancing intersect, but one group of San Francisco activists is flashing all the skin they can to get their message out. Their hope is that a local measure, Prop G, succeeds with city voters in Tuesday’s election, thereby helping to protect lower-income tenants from being squeezed out of the city.

Because a San Francisco without g0-go boys, artists and drag queens is, well, we don’t want to even imagine it.

Interestingly, Prop G’s “anti-speculation tax,” is reminiscent of the final pieces of legislation that Supervisor Harvey Milk pushed for before he was assassinated. Sadly, those efforts died with him.

Queerty spoke exclusively with Prop G activist Brett Waxdeck about what the measure means for the city, and his memorable tactic to reach voters.

Queerty: What is Proposition G, exactly?

10359489_10152789604971063_5169769672993917913_nBrettWaxdeck: Prop G, which is on next Tuesday’s ballot, is commonly referred to as the “anti-speculation tax”. It is intended to address the problem of speculation in rental real estate in San Francisco that is contributing to the city’s housing affordability crisis.

Investors, often from out of town, are buying muti-unit rental properties and immediately evicting tenants under the Ellis Act. The speculators turn a quick and enormous profit from “flipping” the properties. The formerly rent-protected tenants are left in the cold. And the city’s stock is reduced putting more pressure on everybody’s rents.

Prop G is designed to discourage speculators from buying and flipping rental properties by imposing a 24% tax on the sales price of any multi unit, non-owner occupied, property that is bought and sold within a year. The tax gradually declines to 14% for a property bought and sold within 5 years. After 5 years the tax does not apply.

The law targets true speculators (as opposed to homeowners) because the tax does not apply to any owner occupied property, for example, a home that has an in-law unit, or a duplex, in which the owner lives in one unit.

And where do the go-go boys come in?

10487298_10152789600846063_5242994402073778152_nScantily clad go-go boys and their supporters assembled in Harvey Milk Plaza and marched through the Castro District chanting: “Save our go-go boys, yes on G.” The relationship between go-go boys and Prop G is simple: The housing affordability crisis is driving out many of the very people who make San Francisco a fun and sexy city in which to live: go-go boys, artists, musicians, drag performers, educators and other people of moderate means.

The real estate industry opposes G because it will cost them a fraction of their business — sales to speculators. G is supported by a majority of the Board of Supervisors, both candidates for State Assembly, and the city’s Democratic Club, among others. Opponents are outspending proponents by more than ten to one. Hopefully, however, the voters will do what’s necessary to protect economic and cultural diversity (and fun) in their city and pass Proposition G.

The National Organization for Marriage Just Threw Away $117,000

The National Organization for Marriage Just Threw Away $117,000

north-carolina-flagFrankly, we’re surprised to learn that the National Organization for Marriage even has $117,000 left to throw away on anything. But the facts are these: NOM just gave a huge chunk of cash to support the election of Thom Tillis, a bigot from North Carolina.

Tillis was largely responsible for NC’s now-overturned marriage ban. He’s currently a member of the state House of Representatives, and he’s running for Senate. (The election’s on Tuesday! Tell your friends in NC to vote, and remind them that Kay Hagan supports the freedom to marry!)

Why are we so sure that this money is a waste? Well, even if Tillis wins his election, NOM still doesn’t get anything out of it. Oh sure, their friend gets to hang onto power; and they’ll have defeated a nice lady who believes that gays should be treated equally. But they still won’t be able to stop marriage.

Look, NOM, North Carolina’s marriage ban is gone. For good. It’s over. It’s unconstitutional, the Attorney General hasn’t been willing to defend it since this summer, and no one is going to be able to halt the weddings now that they’ve started. You’re not going to be able to pull a Prop 8 here, since federal courts have already determined that banning marriage for gays is unconstitutional.

We’re used to NOM wasting money on long-shot court cases that they can’t possibly win, like in Oregon. But there’s something particularly pathetic about them wasting money in states where they’ve conclusively lost.

Of course, it’s their money, so they’re free to waste it however they want. We just wouldn’t want to have to explain any of this to their donors.
