Lady Gaga Is Engaged To Taylor Kinney, Shares Photo Of Massive Heart-Shaped Diamond Ring
Lady Gaga is officially engaged to long-time boyfriend Taylor Kinney.
The pop star revealed the exciting news on Monday when she shared a photo of her huge, heart-shaped diamond engagement ring with her followers on Instagram:

The 28-year-old singer revealed that the 33-year-old actor asked her to marry him on Valentine’s day, and she of course, accepted his proposal. According to Us Weekly, the pop star and her new fiance later celebrated at Gaga’s family’s restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Gaga and Kinney first met on the set of her 2011 video for “You & I,” in which Gaga wore her mother’s own wedding dress. While the couple have had their ups and downs, briefly breaking up for a month back in May 2012, it seems they are in it for the long haul.

The singer and her fiancé first met on the 2011 set of Gaga’s “You & I” music video, which was shot in Nebraska. Not ironic, Gaga wore her mother’s actual wedding gown in scenes of the racy video, which starred Chicago Fire hunk Kinney as the object of her affection. They started dating several months later, split briefly in May 2012, and got back together the following month.

DJ Yabis is a travel writer and trip planner who has traveled to more than 100 European cities in the last three years. Currently he’s in Cologne, Germany where there is an annual carnival underway, similar to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and he’s been posting a few images and clips to Instagram.

Today marks the culmination of Germany’s weeklong Carnival festivities highlighted by a long, raucous costumed parade, lots of drinking and singing. Carnival ends at midnight between Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. While the festival has religious origins it has a political dimension as well.
Bloomberg reports that this year the Rose Monday parade (which took place today) gave a nod to Charlie Hebdo:
A float featuring a clown watering a garden of pencils with the words “freedom to joke” led the traditional Rose Monday parade through the streets of the old town on Monday. Authorities previously rejected as too provocative a motif by the Koelnische Karnevals-Gesellschaft von 1945 e.V. with the clown blocking an Islamist terrorist’s gun barrel with a pencil.
