In respond to the Scottish Supreme Court ruling that the definition of sex is sex at birth, many transgenders all around the United Kingdom staged protests against the ruling, along with the support from the LGBT community.

I heard that there was going to be one in Bristol, and decided to drive down there, to do some photojournalism of the protest.

This photograph was taken on the crossroad of Union Street and Broadmead, looking in a southern direction, the building on the right is the ODEON cinema.

The meaning of the title The Last Crossing is simply that, this was the last time some of the protesters, like the guy in the yellow vest, was holding up the traffic to allow the rest of the protesters to march on.

They were only one street away from the finishing point of the marching protest.

I wear my heart on my sleeve…

Anyone who knows me will know I can be a *little* OTT when it comes to wearing my heart on my sleeve… but don’t worry, today it’s just flowers on there 🌸

I’ve been away for a little while, literally, not just figuratively for once! 😅. I actually escaped the country for a bit, leaving behind the usual stresses, routines and general chaos of normal life.

But I’m back now, hopefully a little more rested, a little more relaxed, and still just as prone to dramatic emotional oversharing as ever 😅 So naturally, I thought I’d celebrate my return with a little pic. Because apparently that’s how I process my feelings … with flowers, frocks and photographs

Almost ten years ago to the day, on the very same day, two photographs were taken.

Him. Her.

Two sides of the same person? Two different people? Perhaps the answer matters less than the question.

What I do know is this: I am immensely proud of both of them — of who I was, who I became, and of having the courage to be both.
