Idina Menzel Belts Out ‘Wing Beneath My Wings’ in First ‘Beaches’ Trailer – WATCH

The first official trailer for the much-talked about Lifetime remake of Beaches is here.

Idina Menzel steps into Bette Midler’s shoes as C.C. while Nia Long recreates the role of Hillary as originated by Barbara Hershey.

The Hollywood Reporter has more on the remake: 

The remake will follow CC as she builds her career in Los Angeles, whereas the original took the young pair to NYC while CC made a name for herself on Broadway.

The movie will include new takes on Midler’s Grammy-winning “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “The Glory of Love.” Menzel’s version of  “Wind Beneath My Wings” plays in the background of the trailer.

In August, Midler said she “can’t wait” to see the Frozen star step into her iconic role. “Can’t wait to see Idina Menzel as CC in Lifetime’s ‘Beaches!’ ” she tweeted, adding: “DON’T TELL ME THE ENDING!”

Woman Who Screamed At Michaels Staff Also Berated Coffee Shop Employees In Boystown And It’s All On Tape

Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we have a repeat offender on our hands.

Remember that angry, white, Trump-supporting woman who was recorded having a complete meltdown, shouting profanities in front of babies, and calling two Black woman “animals” all because she was denied a free bag at Michaels? Well, it turns out she may have a history of that sort of erratic behavior.

In a new 1:48-minute video published by Chicagoist, a woman with remarkable likeness to the woman in the now infamous Michaels video can be seen shouting at two baristas at a Peet’s Coffee in Boystown, Chicago.

“You think because you’re in Boystown you’re safe?” she hisses at the barista. “Corporate’s not in Boystown!”

It’s unclear what exactly led the woman to become unhinged, though it may be because she didn’t have her wallet to pay for a bottle of water.

“You’re the bitch!” she hollers at the employees. “You are the bitch! You are literally the bitch!”

She then goes on to mock the store manager with some overly flamboyant body gestures and then claims she feared for her life because of something Becky, who we presume is the barista working the cash register, had just said to her.

“The way she got in my face was not professional. I actually was afraid for my life!” she cries. “Yeah! Yeah, I was!”

Rachel Maddow Finds Trump’s New National Security Pick KT McFarland Laughably Lacking – WATCH

Rachel Maddow took a look at the resume of Donald Trump’s newly announced deputy national security adviser, KT McFarland, on Monday night.

As we reported yesterday, McFarland outed her gay brother to their family while he was dying of AIDS. McFarland also reportedly refused to visit her brother in his final years.

Maddow, for her part, examined McFarland’s spectacularly disastrous attempt to run for the U.S. Senate in 2006 and be the Republican challenger to Hillary Clinton, who sought reelection that year.

But in Trump’s America, experience or actual bona fides don’t really matter.

Said Maddow,

Now, the “upper east side society matron” who was registered to vote at two addresses, who illegally charged her Rudy Giuliani golf games to her donors, who said she was the highest ranking woman in the Pentagon when she was not, who said she was the first female staffer on the Senate armed services committee which she was not, who said she wrote [Ronald Reagan’s] Star Wars speech when she did not, turns out what she did do after that hilariously inauspicious obscure debut in electoral politics, what she did do is she got a contributor gig at Fox News after all of that. And that is apparently enough because now she is about to become the deputy national security adviser to the President of the United States.

Maddow did not, however, make mention of McFarland outing her brother or his comments on his sexuality and in particular what she called his “promiscuity.”

Small Town Politician Exposed For Writing Nasty Antigay Tweets

Meet Wes Bellamy. He is the Vice Mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia who is currently facing calls for resignation after a series of tweets written between 2009 and 2014 in which he refers to gay people as “faggots” and makes disparaging remarks about women were unearthed from the bowels of his Twitter page.

The tweets were discovered by self-proclaimed “pro-free speech, anti-affirmative action, anti-cultural Marxist and pro-equality” blogger Jason Kessler, who shared them on his website last week. In one of the tweets, written back in October 2011, Bellamy answered a question prompted by another user “Does it make males uncomfortable wen girls are so upfront about sex??” with “It only makes faggots uncomfortable.”

In another tweet from that same time, Bellamy insinuates that women in leadership roles (i.e. school principals, teachers, etc.) turn little boys gay, writing: “I’m all for equal opportunity…but a Female principal with a school full of female teachers is fkn a sure fire way to fk our lil boys up smh.”

Since the tweets went viral, 30-year-old Bellamy has issued a statement on Facebook, calling the tweets “disrespectful” and “ignorant” and assuring people that they are not representative of who he is today:

But not everyone is sure about Kessler’s motivations for publishing the tweets.

Nikuyah Walker, a member of the Albemarle-Charlottesville NAACP, said while she finds what Bellamy wrote “alarming,” she questioned why Kessler dug so far back into his private Twitter account, which includes almost 123,000 tweets.

“Wes is a black male,” she hypothesizes. “You often face a different level of scrutiny.”

The Daily Progress also points out that Kessler frequently tweets about “alt-right” issues and just last week posted on his Facebook that he is considering a run for City Council to “protect” the city’s Confederate statues and “curtail institutional racial discrimination (i.e. affirmative action).”

‘Anyway’ – Billy Gilman’s Big Notes Grab Him a Standing Ovation on The Voice: WATCH

Out former child country star Billy Gilman shows no signs of slowing down as he slaughtered Top 10 week with a 10-year-old classic from Martina McBride that allowed him to showcase the huge notes he’s become known for.

Gossip Cop reports:

Now 10 years after its release, Gilman revealed in rehearsal that McBride was actually instrumental in leading him to his original record deal. Levine said he didn’t want to “force” a country track on Gilman, but the contestant was right at home belting out the inspirational track. And his performance, which kicked off the two-hour live broadcast, earned a standing ovation from all four coaches.

Blake Shelton said afterward, “I’m happy to see Billy go back to the [country] well for a little bit, even if it’s just for a moment.” Miley Cyrus admitted, “At this point in the competition, that’s not good for us, but it’s really good for you… As a coach, I’m flipping out.” She even added, “It just heightened what you already are, which is maybe the winner of ‘The Voice.’”
