“28-seitige Beruhigungspille”: Die Medien zerpflücken das GroKo-Sondierungspapier
Union und SPD haben es mit Hängen und Ringen geschafft, sich auf ein GroKo-Sondierungspapier zu einigen
Die Medien beurteilen das Ergebnis im schlimmsten Fall als katastrophal – und im besten als langweilig-solide
Es hat lange genug gedauert.
109 Tage nach der Wahl ist endlich ein konkreter Schritt in Richtung einer neuen Bundesregierung gemacht worden.
Nachdem die Jamaika-Sondierungen vier Wochen brauchten, um zu Scheitern, haben es SPD und Union in fünf Tagen und einer langen Nacht geschafft, sich auf eine gemeinsame Verhandlungsposition für Gespräche über eine Neuauflage der Großen Koalition zu einigen.
Auf 28 Seiten haben CDU, CSU und SPD ihre Vorstellungen von der unmittelbaren Zukunft Deutschlands zusammengetragen. Und an der hagelt es jetzt schon Kritik.
► Viele Medien sind von den neuen GroKo-Vorschlägen nicht überzeugt – und warnen vor fatalen vier Regierungsjahren.
“Ambitionslos, verwaltend, zäh”
Allen voran die Zeitung “Die Welt”. Chefredakteur Ulf Poschardts Kommentar zu den Sondierungsergebnissen liest sich wie eine Ankündigung der politischen Apokalypse.
“Am Ende der Sondierung steht eine universelle Beschwichtigung, eine 28-seitige Beruhigungspille”, schreibt er. Den Bürgen solle vorgegaukelt werden, dass die “reißenden Flüsse der Gegenwart” einfach weiter gemacht werden könne, wie bisher: “ambitionslos, verwaltend, zäh”.
Von einem programmatischen Biedermeier schreibt Poschardt, der Ängste nehmen solle.
► Mit Blick auf die Zukunft sei das ein schwerer Fehler:
“Die für Steuerzahler extrem teuere Regierung tut, als würde der Aufschwung ewig währen. Anders als die oft bemühte schwäbische Hausfrau legt sie in guten Zeiten nichts zurück und investiert kaum in Zukunftsfähigkeit.”

Ähnlich fatalistisch wie die Welt kommentiert “Spiegel Online” das Machwerk von Union und SPD. Von einem gefährlichen “Aufbruch ins Weiter-so” ist die Rede: “Die Neuauflage der Großen Koalition wird den gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt (…) nicht stärken.”
In der Großen Koalition werde vier Jahre lang wieder so getan werden, als gäbe es zwischen Union und SPD keine Unterschiede – und das werde die Ränder des politischen Spektrums stärken.
“Spiegel Online” schreibt: “Eine neue GroKo wird das Land nicht einen, sondern zu seiner weiteren Spaltung beitragen.”
“Nicht der Weisheit letzter Schluss, aber…”
Droht unter einer Neuauflage der Großen Koalition also wirklich der Weltuntergang? Wohl nicht, argumentieren viele Medien – doch die Politik werde eben langweilig und visionslos bleiben.
“Was die Sondierer präsentierten, wirft einige Fragen auf, ist stellenweise dünn und in Teilen arg enttäuschend für die eine oder andere Seite und für so manche Bürger”, schreibt etwa die “Süddeutsche Zeitung”.
► Das Papier von Union und SPD belaste die viel Verdienenden noch immer zu wenig, es sei im Klimaschutz zu kleinmütig, und im Umgang mit Flüchtlingen zu hartherzig.
“Was die Sondierer von CDU, CSU und SPD zusammengetragen haben, ist sicher noch nicht der Weisheit letzter Schluss. (…) Aber das Papier ist ein Kompromiss, mit dem Union und Sozialdemokraten arbeiten können und mit dem sie auch arbeiten sollten.”
Auch der “Tagesspiegel” glaubt, dass mit einer neuen GroKo “am Ende aus der Krise noch etwas Rettendes erwachsen” könne. Wahrscheinlicher ist laut der Berliner Zeitung jedoch, dass man von “dieser Koalition am Ende der Legislaturperiode sagen könnte, dass sie eine Arbeitsregierung gewesen sei – und keine der Träume.”
Welche Zukunft haben die GroKo-Verantwortlichen?
So oder so wäre es wohl die letzte Regierung unter Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel. Welche Signale würde sie für deren Zukunft senden?
Die “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” schreibt in Reaktion auf die Sondierungen von Merkels “letztem Aufgalopp” und stellt die Frage, wie lange die Deutschen Merkel noch an der Macht sehen wollten.
“Wie lange wird der urdeutsche Wunsch nach Stabilität, Ruhe und Zuverlässigkeit, der Merkel zwölf Jahre lang hohe Zustimmungswerte einbrachte, noch das Bedürfnis in Schach halten, doch einmal andere Gesichter und Konstellationen zu sehen?”
Immerhin, schreibt die “FAZ”, wenn Merkel aufhöre, könne das eine neue Hoffnung für die SPD sein – und der Grund, warum sie sich noch einmal eine Große Koalition antue.

Eine Beobachtung, die auch die “taz” aus Berlin gemacht hat. Sie beschreibt die vergangenen 109 Tage als “langen Weg zu Merkel”. Ein Weg, auf dem die Union wieder einmal die SPD-Politik gekapert habe, “während die Sozialdemokraten seltsam unfähig scheinen, ihre übersichtlichen Erfolge wenigstens gefällig zu präsentieren.”
► Für SPD-Chef Martin Schulz ein Problem – muss er doch seiner Parteibasis am 21. Januar in Bonn diese übersichtlichen Erfolge als ausreichenden Grund für eine Neuauflage einer Merkel-GroKo vorlegen.
Dabei, schreibt die “Zeit”, habe die SPD ja durchaus beachtliche Zugeständnisse beim Thema Wirtschaft und Soziales errungen.
Das Sondierungsergebnis bedeute “eine Fortsetzung einer moderat sozialdemokratischen Politik unter der Führung einer Unionskanzlerin mit einigen positiven (eine neue Afrikapolitik, Grundrente, Europa) und einigen negativen (Klimaziele, Mütterente) Überraschungen.”
Das sei nichts, was die Fantasie beflügele, aber als Grundlage für vier Jahre “solides Regieren” tauglich.
Nach 109 Tagen warten muss das vielleicht auch erstmal reichen.

Jeremy Corbyn Promotes Clive Lewis In Frontbench Reshuffle
The Labour Party has chosen late Friday evening to announce news of a shadow cabinet reshuffle which includes a promotion for Clive Lewis, recently cleared of a claim of sexual assault.
The Norwich South MP resigned over the party’s Brexit stance in February of last year but is to be made a shadow Treasury minister.
Lewis came under investigation by the Labour Party in November after an official complaint accused him of groping a woman at the party’s annual conference last month.
The allegation was made by a party member who said she was meeting the front-bencher for the first time when they hugged and gave her “bum a big squeeze”.
The MP told the BBC at the time: “I know how I roll. I don’t squeeze women’s buttocks. They are lying or they are wrong.”
He was later cleared by the party.
Also on the list is Paula Sherriff who was PPS to Jon Trickett until January 2016 when she resigned.

HRC Mourns Viccky Gutierrez, First Transgender Woman of Color Reportedly Killed in 2018
HRC was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Viccky Gutierrez, a transgender woman from Honduras killed in what officials are calling a “suspicious” fire in her Los Angeles home early Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department is investigating the incident, which occurred in the Pico-Union neighborhood, according to reports. While the victim’s remains have not officially been identified by the Los Angeles Police Department, TransLatin@ Coalition founder Bamby Salcedo in an emotional Facebook post Wednesday night confirmed that Gutierrez died in the fire.
Friends took to social media to mourn Gutierrez’s death, describing her as “a young trans Latina immigrant woman whose warm smile would give anyone comfort.” Tonight, the Los Angeles transgender community and allies will gather to honor Gutierrez and demand an end to the epidemic of violence targeting transgender people.
Gutierrez’s is the first transgender woman of color and the second transgender person known to have died this year as a result of violence. Transgender women of color make up a horrific percentage of reported transgender murder victims.
Last year, the HRC Foundation and the Trans People of Color Coalition released a report documenting the senseless acts of violence that made 2017 the deadliest year on record for transgender people, particularly for trans women of color.
