First Charges Filed In Robert Mueller’s Russia Election Meddling Probe
The first charges have been filed in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

Anyone charged could be arrested as soon as Monday, reports CNN.

The documents, approved by a federal grand jury in Washington, are sealed under orders from a federal judge, the network said.

Mueller has filed charges? Arrests as soon as Monday? We’re at the part of the mob movie where its going in slow mo & opera music is playing
Only hours before the news Trump had tweeted it was “commonly agreed” that there was no evidence of collusion.
It is now commonly agreed, after many months of COSTLY looking, that there was NO collusion between Russia and Trump. Was collusion with HC!
Last month it was revealed the FBI had searched the home of Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman as part of the investigation.

The Washington Post reported that “documents and other materials were seized” during the raid on July 26.

One day before, Manafort had met with Senate Intelligence Committee investigators to discuss a meeting between a Russian lawyer and members of Trump’s campaign team that took place during the 2016 presidential election.

Manafort “answered their questions fully,” their spokesman said.

On June 27, Manafort retroactively registered as a foreign agent thanks to $17.1 million his firm was paid from 2012 to 2014 for lobbying work he did on behalf of a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine.

Fox’s Sean Hannity, Trump’s softball interviewer of choice, appeared to be stretching for an adequate explanation of the developments.

Mueller’s team is reportedly also looking into a dossier containing explosive, unverified allegations regarding Trump and his associates, compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele for the research firm Fusion GPS.

US intelligence agencies concluded in January that Russia interfered in the election to try to help Trump defeat Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton through a campaign of hacking and releasing embarrassing emails, and disseminating propaganda via social media to discredit her campaign.

Mueller is investigating whether Trump campaign officials colluded with those Russian efforts.

He is also examining other possible crimes, including obstruction of justice, money-laundering and tax evasion.

Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller, declined to comment to Reuters about the CNN report on Friday.

Trump, a Republican who was elected president last November, has denied allegations that his campaign colluded with Russians and condemned investigations into the matter as a witch hunt.

The Kremlin has denied the allegations.

Mueller was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in May to investigate possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian officials during the 2016 presidential election.

This followed President Donald Trump’s controversial decision to fire FBI Director James Comey amid the agency’s investigation into the campaign connections.

Mueller is a former prosecutor and served as FBI director from 2001 to 2013.

As Special Counsel he has sweeping powers and the authority to prosecute any crimes he uncovers.

Mueller’s broad mandate gives him not only oversight of the Russia probe, but also “any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation”.

The ‘Pose’ cast and creative team are poised for greatness – here’s where you’ve seen them before

When the news broke on Wednesday that Ryan Murphy’s new FX pilot Pose would include the largest transgender cast ever in a scripted television series – as well as incredibly talented trans people behind the camera and in the writer’s room – it brought a lot of joy to many in the LGBTQ community and beyond… and rightfully so! Although the show has not yet been picked up to series, we already can’t contain our excitement.

The Pose cast and creative team are filled with many familiar faces, several of whom GLAAD has worked with and recognized for their previous projects.

Pose show creator Ryan Murphy received his first GLAAD Media Award at the 11th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles in 2000 for his show Popular. Murphy also was honored in 2010 for Glee, in 2013 for The New Normal and American Horror Story: Asylum, and in 2015 for bringing a beautiful version of The Normal Heart to HBO.

Angelica Ross, who will play Candy in Pose, took the stage at the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York earlier this year, to accept an award for her appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. In her acceptance speech alongside Noah, Ross shared a message of empowerment to trans women of color: “Never give up, because your dreams matter, your stories matter, your lives matter,” adding, “no matter what challenge you’re faced with, you can overcome it. You can overcome it.”

Dominique Jackson, who has been cast as Elektra in Pose, shared the GLAAD Media Awards stage with her co-stars from Oxygen’s Strut (along with executive producer Whoopi Goldberg) when the show took home the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Reality Program at the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards at the New York Hilton Midtown this past spring.

Billy Porter, a Tony Award winner for his role in Kinky Boots, will play a character named Pray Tell in Pose. He brought down the house with this powerful acceptance speech when he accepted GLAAD’s Vito Russo Award at the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards earlier this year.;

Pose writer Janet Mock first graced the GLAAD Media Awards stage in 2012, when she was nominated for her essay in Marie Claire disclosing her gender history. She and Laverne Cox appeared onstage together to introduce GLAAD’s work with the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition. “It is my belief that by living visibly and standing and sharing in your truth that you help your community, your allies, and I believe even your oppressors, recognize the humanity that lies within us all,” Mock told the crowd that night.

Singer/songwriter Our Lady J (seen in video, below) is also on the Pose writing team. She’s also been a writer for several seasons on Transparent and was on stage this past spring when the show won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comedy Series at the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards.

Pose co-executive producer Silas Howard also attended the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards with the Transparent team, after he directed three episodes of the series.

Just last month, Pose star Tatiana Maslany was seen wearing GLAAD’s #TogetherMovement ampersand pin on the red carpet at the Emmys. Her show Orphan Black has received 4 GLAAD Media Award nominations, and in 2015 Maslany sat down with GLAAD to talk about why she’s an LGBT ally:

Additional creative talent includes choreographers Leiomy Maldando and Danielle Polanco, ball consultants Michael Roberson and Twiggy Pucci Garçon, and consultants Hector Xtravaganza, Skylar King and Sol Williams.

Theresa May Launches New Drive To Close Gender Pay Gap

Theresa May Launches New Drive To Close Gender Pay Gap
Theresa May has launched a new drive to close the gender pay cap, now calling on small companies to publish data on wage disparities.

The PM also wants to widen the availability of flexible working for all jobs unless there are “solid business reasons not to” and increase female representation in at senior levels.

May said: “Tackling injustices like the gender pay gap is part of building a country that works for everyone.

“Already many of the UK’s top companies are leading the way in making sure everyone’s contributions to the workplace are valued equally, and it is encouraging news that the gap has fallen this year for full-time workers.

“But the gender pay gap isn’t going to close on its own – we all need to be taking sustained action to make sure we address this.”

Commenting on the announcement, TUC General Secretary, Frances O’Grady, said: “The gender pay gap will continue closing at a snail’s pace unless the government comes down much harder on employers.

“This announcement is a damp squib that will have little impact. Companies should be forced to publish their pay gaps – not merely encouraged.”

Based on median hourly earnings for full-time employees, the gender pay gap has fallen to the lowest level since 1997, dropping from 9.4% in 2016 to 9.1%.

Large companies including Weetabix, Fujitsu, TSB, Virgin Media and SSE have already reported their gender pay gap and have said how they will take action to close it.

May is now calling on more employers to follow their lead, including encouraging businesses with fewer than 250 employees to voluntarily publish their pay gap too.

She added: “We need to see a real step-change in the number of companies publishing their gender pay data and offering progression and flexibility for all employees.

“That’s why today I am calling on more businesses, both small and large, to take action to make sure the gender pay gap is eliminated once and for all.”

Despite positive action on the gender pay gap, the wider picture for UK workers is worsening.

Full-time workers’ weekly earnings have fallen in real terms for the first time since 2014, new figures revealed this week.

Despite wages increasing by 2.2% since last year, according to the Office for National Statistics, any potential gains have been eroded by inflation rising even further.

Median weekly earnings are now £550 a week – down 0.4% on 2016 when adjusted for inflation, the Press Association reported.
