Sarah Palin Says 'Of Course' She's Interested in 2016: VIDEO

Palin

Speaking with ABC News’ Neal Karlinsky while dishing out wild boar chili to homeless in Las Vegas Thursday, Sarah Palin served up a side of word salad for her thoughts on the 2016 presidential election:

We can’t wait for new energy. Good competition. And that competition in the GOP primary, ’cause this had better be a competition, and not a coronation, will surface that candidate who can take on, I predict, Hillary. Be ready for Hillary and show the nation what it’s going to take to get the country on the right track. We can’t afford status quo. Status quo, lately, has been lacking. We’re getting screwed. And status quo’s got to go.

Palin, who resigned as Governor of Alaska in 2009 instead of finishing out her first term, added that “of course” she’s interested in the 2016 race because of her “servant’s heart”. ABC News added that when Palin was asked again if she was interested in actually running in 2016, she said:

“We definitely had enough of seeing that — America has had enough of seeing that — sign on the Oval Office door saying, ‘No Girls Allowed.’ I know that.”

George Takei: Buddhism ‘Made A Lot Of Sense For Me'

George Takei: Buddhism ‘Made A Lot Of Sense For Me'
George Takei is an actor, a social media star, and a gay rights activist.

He’s also a longtime Buddhist whose faith has helped him get through the rough patches in his life — like coming to terms with his sexual orientation and making sense of his Japanese family’s internment during World War II.

Takei, best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu on “Star Trek,” remembers studying Buddhism at a local temple under his Sunday School teachers Roy and Terry Nakawatase. He shared his life story on the Buddhist blog Lion’s Roar.

I remember Roy using the metaphor of the vastness of the ocean: we are all part of it, we belong to this vast oneness, and that made a lot of sense for me—that I am really one with everybody, with the whole, and that we can play a part in making that whole healthier and more understanding.

Buddhism is diverse and views on homosexuality vary. Its founder, Siddhartha Gautama, didn’t specifically offer guidance on how to view sexual orientation, according to the Human Rights Campaign.

Dr. Jay Michaelson, author of “Evolving Dharma” and longtime meditation teacher, said that there are same-sex love stories sprinkled throughout Buddhist literature and culture — and that the religion has much to offer LGBT people.

The Dharma offers two kinds of attractions to LGBT people. First, what it doesn’t say: Buddhism has very little bad to say about same-sex behavior (or, more recently, LGBT identity). Many LGBT people have found spiritual homes in American Buddhist communities, after being excluded from the religions they were born into. Second, what Buddhism does say: that compassion is a paramount value, that we must work to minimize suffering, that there are connections between us greater than our differences. This led many Dharma communities to be in the forefront in caring for victims of AIDS, and to recognizing the humanity of LGBT people.

PHOTOS: Hot Model Javier Cabrera In Booty-Hugging Boxers

atelieradrian4Just when we thought the winter cold would do us in, this Adrian C. Martin photo shoot turns up the temp with some spice. And if you’ve got a thing for men in boxers, then this shoot will be muy caliente. Photographed at the Ifa Faro Hotel in Spain, Adrian gets model Javier Cabrera into some short boxer briefs by Atelier DT. Javier pulls off the underwear in more ways than one. Then we see him standing in front of a mirror, totally naked. Is that the top of a butt we see? Yes, it is.

As great as Javier’s butt is, we’re still focused on his front. The Atelier DT boxer briefs have a way of holding his package that is flattering no matter the angle. The material of the underwear also forms well to his muscular legs.

He looks best in the Atelier DT Print Boxer in Star Grey. It is the only non-solid look that Javier wears during the shoot. The starry print is both a little cute and a little sporty, the perfect compliment to everything Javier brings to the table.

Alabama GOP Leaders Blast Federal Judge's Ruling Striking Down State Gay Marriage Ban

Alabama GOP Leaders Blast Federal Judge's Ruling Striking Down State Gay Marriage Ban

Alabama

State officials in Alabama are none too pleased with District Judge Callie V.S. Granade, who issued a ruling late Friday striking down the state’s ban on same-sex marriage.

Tweeted Governor Robert Bentley:

The people of AL voted in a constitutional amendment to define marriage between man & woman. I’m disappointed by the ruling &will review it.

— Gov. Robert Bentley (@GovernorBentley) January 24, 2015

Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard was even less pleased with the ruling:

“It is outrageous when a single unelected and unaccountable federal judge can overturn the will of millions of Alabamians who stand in firm support of the Sanctity of Marriage Amendment. The Legislature will encourage a vigorous appeals process, and we will continue defending the Christian conservative values that make Alabama a special place to live.”

Buzzfeed’s Chris Geidner has something to point out though:

Alabama Spkr Hubbard says “millions of Alabamians” in support of amendment. Less than 700,000 voted for it, per Wiki. pic.twitter.com/YlvBEhvLh0

— Chris Geidner (@chrisgeidner) January 24, 2015

Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange, meanwhile, filed an emergency stay request with Judge Granade, calling her ruling “disappointing.” If the stay request is denied, Strange can take it to the Eleventh Circuit Court but he should be aware the court turned down a similar stay request from the state of Florida last month. If no stay is issued, same-sex couples in the state should be free to tie the knot first thing Monday morning once county clerks’ offices open.

“I went online to look for guys working as escorts and who were willing to work with me on this project,” award-winning photographer Ernst Coppejans tells Queerty in an exclusive interview. “In the Netherlands prostitution is legal. In Amsterdam we have the famous red light district. Only women work there, however.”

Coppejans lives and works in Amsterdam. Before becoming a professional photographer, he studied Art History at the University of Amsterdam and Styling and Design at Artemis Academy. His photo series Gay Escorts features stunning images of male sex workers in Amsterdam.

“Male prostitution is way less visible,” Coppejans explains. “I wanted to know who these guys were and what motivated them. It’s a very international crowd. The guys come from all over the globe. Spain, Brazil, Czechia, Israel, Poland.”

Coppejans photographed each of the men in the privacy of their own homes. He also interviewed them. During the interview process he learned that many genuinely enjoyed their line of work.

“It was their choice,” he said. “Most of them were having sex very often anyway, so they figured why not charge money. Some started because of a crisis [like] losing their job, and found themselves still working even after it was no longer necessary.”

“These guys are normal guys who maybe have a job that’s out of the ordinary,” Coppejans says. “They also have hopes and dreams.”
