A high-profile pastor has urged his followers to object to one of President Trump’s judicial nominees.

Trump has nominated Patrick J. Bumatay to replace Judge Carlos Bea on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Bumatay currently serves as a US attorney in Southern California.

If he is successful, Bumatay will become the first Filipino American to serve as an Article III federal appellate judge and the first openly gay judge on the Ninth Circuit.

However, as with any Trump nominee, Bumatay has detractors – this time on both the left and right of the political spectrum.

Senator Kamala Harris, on hearing of his nomination, called Bumatay “highly-flawed” and said he “lacks the judgment and qualifications to serve on the Ninth Circuit.”

Her views on Bumatay have been echoed by fellow Californian Senator Dianne Feinstein, who says Bumatay, “has only ever argued two cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals …. Most of his work has been in district courts, not federal appeals courts.”

Earlier this week, Pastor E.W. Jackson, who unsuccessfully ran for the US Senate in 2018, used his radio show, The Awakening, to encourage followers to complain about Bumatay’s nomination. His reason – surprise, surprise – is because Bumatay’s gay.

“How this nomination got by President Trump, I do not know,” Jackson said. “This guy is a complete and a total activist who has an agenda to further the cause of normalizing and legalizing, in the civil sense, homosexuality in our country. We don’t need that kind of person as an appeals court judge.

“This guy is bad, bad news. He is a homosexual activist … and he brings this into his legal practice. Folks, we don’t need judges who have an ideological agenda to use the bench to transform the culture into something they think it should be, contrary to everything we’ve ever stood for.

“His nomination needs to be quashed, and it is my hope that it will either be withdrawn or it will be defeated by a vote in the United States Senate.”

Bumatay’s appointment, if confirmed, would be for life. It would also make him eligible for a potential seat on the Supreme Court one day – something that horrifies Jackson.

“There is a tremendous opportunity there for judicial tyranny when people take that job because they’ve got some agenda other than the implementation of the law and the Constitution in a fair and objective way.

“I’m convinced that these folks, because that’s their agenda, they can’t be fair and objective because they’ve got an agenda that is preeminent in their lives, and in their minds, and in their hearts, and in their behavior, and in their activity.”

It’s the second time Trump has nominated Bumatay, after first doing so in late 2018. On that occasion, the Senate failed to act on it and sent it back to the White House. His current nomination is now pending before the Senate.

Jackson – who was banned from Twitter earlier this year – has long been a critic of the advancement of LGBTQ rights. After criticizing Bumatay on his radio show on Monday, he spent a portion of Tuesday’s show attacking Democratic Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg over his “claims” to be Christian.

A new Joe Biden ad shows world leaders laughing at Trump and includes footage from this week’s NATO summit in London.

The world is laughing at President Trump. They see him for what he really is: dangerously incompetent and incapable of world leadership.

We cannot give him four more years as commander in chief. pic.twitter.com/IR8K2k54YQ

Says Biden in the ad: “The world sees Trump for what he is. Insincere, ill-informed, corrupt, dangerously incompetent, and incapable in my view of world leadership. And if we give Donald Trump four more years, we’ll have a great deal of difficulty of ever being able to recover America’s standing in the world, and our capacity to bring nations together.”

Sarah Huckabee Sanders: Donald Trump ‘Reads More Than Anybody I Know’ — WATCH

Sarah Huckabee Sanders told Fox News’ Steve Hilton on Sunday and his panel, which included former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, that Donald Trump “reads more than anybody I know.” Sanders was reacting to claims in the new book A Warning, by Anonymous, that aides give Trump “dumbed down” briefings or risk enraging him.

Said Sanders: “I’ve watched this process play out so many times, sat in hundreds of meetings with the president, and the idea that he can only take in one or two bullets is absurd. I’ve watched him consume massive amounts of information, process it quickly and make decisions, and go. He reads more than anybody I know. Every single foreign trip we actually would laugh about the fact he has boxes upon boxes, file boxes where he reads for hours. The rest of us want to take a break, we wanna sleep, the president works the entire time. He will spend hours on the plane reading through notes, reading through newspapers, magazines. He consumes a massive amount of information constantly.”

In related news, Sanders is giving every indication she’ll be running for governor of Arkansas.

That time everyone at Madison Square Garden booed Donald Trump

That time everyone at Madison Square Garden booed Donald Trump

Donald Trump can’t seem to go anywhere these days without being met with loud boos and hisses from nearly everyone around him.

On Saturday, the president was once again greeted with angry jeers. This time, it was while he attended the main fight of UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden.

This marks the second time in less than a week that Trump has been shamed by an entire stadium full of people during a public appearance.

The previous Sunday, he was greeted with chants of “Lock him up!” as he attended Game 5 of the World Series in Washington, D.C.

After the UFC incident, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade tried saying Trump actually wanted people to boo him so he could “prove he doesn’t have thin skin.”

“That’s what Trump wanted with that walk in,” Kilmeade argued. “It’s just too simple to say boos or cheers.”

Kilmeade went on to say that the crowd was “not just cheering or booing, it’s just loud noise that gives the crowd a sense of something big that is about to happen.”

Russia Expresses ‘Valid Doubts About Reality and Success’ of U.S. ISIS Raid on Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

Russia Expresses ‘Valid Doubts About Reality and Success’ of U.S. ISIS Raid on Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

Major General Igor Konashenkov

The Russian Federation’s military said on Sunday that it had “valid doubts” about whether ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in the U.S. raid.

Raw Story reports: “In a speech from the White House on Sunday, Trump first thanked Russia for its assistance in the raid. According to Trump, Russia had allowed U.S. aircraft into its airspace to conduct the operation. But later on Sunday, the Russian military indicated that it was unaware of the raid, according to BBC reporter Steve Rosenberg. A spokesperson for the Russian military said there were ‘valid doubts about the reality & success’ of the U.S. operation.”

Said the Russian defense ministry, according to Rosenberg: “We are not aware of any assistance having being given to US Air Force flights into the air space of the Idlib de-escalation zone in this operation…”

Moscow unconvinced by US claims that al-Baghdadi has been killed. Russian defence ministry refers to “valid doubts about the reality & success (of the operation), says “no air strikes by US or coalition forces registered in Idlib de-escalation zone on Saturday or recent days.”

The Daily Beast adds: ‘The Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov, refuted President Trump’s statement, stating in part: “The Russian Defense Ministry has no reliable information about U.S. servicemen conducting an operation for ‘yet another’ elimination of the former Daesh leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the Turkish-controlled part of the Idlib de-escalation zone.” … Kremlin-controlled Russian state media shot down President Trump’s announcement, with headlines that read: “The Russian Defense Ministry does not believe in al-Baghdadi’s liquidation.” Major General Igor Konashenkov scoffed at the changing details of the operation, with Trump adding alleged participants and various countries that supposedly took part in the raid, “each with completely contradictory details,” which Konashenkov said “raises reasonable questions and doubts about [the operation’s] veracity, not to mention success.””

Also: ‘Konashenkov skeptically pointed out that al-Baghdadi was already supposedly “eliminated” multiple times, with such claims being later disproven. In fact, Russia itself, as well as the Assad regime, have falsely claimed to have killed the ISIS leader multiple times.’

The early edition of Russian state tv’s flagship weekly news review led on “Russia’s Big Victory” & “Russia’s Huge Success” in Syria. It’ll be interesting to watch the later edition: will there be some hasty rewriting of script to take in al-Baghdadi? pic.twitter.com/aQNTSu5Y82
