HRC SUPPORTS THE IMPEACHMENT OF PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: “The United States of America is a nation of laws, built upon the Constitutional promise that no one is beyond accountability — especially those elected to serve the American public. Donald Trump has proven time and again that he believes he is above the law and not beholden to the United States Constitution,” said HRC President Alphonso David (@AlphonsoDavid). “Trump’s ongoing efforts to undermine the 2020 election by soliciting foreign interference is unacceptable, deeply dangerous and an affront to the fundamental democratic principle of free and fair elections. Because of these troubling facts, the Human Rights Campaign supports the impeachment of Donald Trump. The impeachment process is a constitutionally guaranteed process for preserving accountability and the integrity of our democracy. Now, Congress must ensure a conclusion consistent with law.” More from HRC.

A video published to social media by Canadian Broadcast Company appears to show NATO leaders – Justin Trudeau, Emmanuel Macron, and Boris Johnson among them – gossiping about Donald Trump at a Buckingham Palace reception. Princess Anne was also present.

.@JustinTrudeau, @EmmanuelMacron, @BorisJohnson and other VIPs shared a few words at a Buckingham Palace reception Tuesday. No one mentions @realDonaldTrump by name, but they seem to be discussing his lengthy impromptu press conferences from earlier in the day. (Video: Host Pool) pic.twitter.com/dVgj48rpOP

In the clip, Johnson asks Macron, “Is that why you were late?”

Trudeau interjects: “He was late because he takes a 40-minute press conference off the top.”

After some inaudible dialogue from Macron, who had a tense press conference with Trump earlier in the day, Trudeau adds, “You just watched his team’s jaws drop to the floor.”

Morning Joe broke down the clip. Said Mika Brzezinski: “It’s pretty clear when you watch it, it is obvious they’re talking about him. They’re mocking him, and they have very little respect for him at all, if any.”

Sarah Huckabee Sanders: Donald Trump ‘Reads More Than Anybody I Know’ — WATCH

Sarah Huckabee Sanders told Fox News’ Steve Hilton on Sunday and his panel, which included former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, that Donald Trump “reads more than anybody I know.” Sanders was reacting to claims in the new book A Warning, by Anonymous, that aides give Trump “dumbed down” briefings or risk enraging him.

President Trump “reads more than anybody I know,” @SarahHuckabee said on @SteveHiltonx‘s Fox show tonight pic.twitter.com/PgdaQflX22

— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) November 25, 2019

Said Sanders: “I’ve watched this process play out so many times, sat in hundreds of meetings with the president, and the idea that he can only take in one or two bullets is absurd. I’ve watched him consume massive amounts of information, process it quickly and make decisions, and go. He reads more than anybody I know. Every single foreign trip we actually would laugh about the fact he has boxes upon boxes, file boxes where he reads for hours. The rest of us want to take a break, we wanna sleep, the president works the entire time. He will spend hours on the plane reading through notes, reading through newspapers, magazines. He consumes a massive amount of information constantly.”

In related news, Sanders is giving every indication she’ll be running for governor of Arkansas.

Queer rights groups demand release of gay Saudi journalists

Queer rights groups demand release of gay Saudi journalists

Donald Trump with Mohammed bin Salman

LGBTQ rights groups have demanded the release of two gay Saudi journalists that have been detained in Australia. The two men entered the country seeking political asylum from the current Saudi government which punishes homosexuality.

According to the Bay Area Reporter, the two men–who remain unidentified in current reports–entered Australia last month. After claiming baggage at the airport, customs officials asked the pair if they intended to seek asylum. When they said yes, they were taken a detention center.

“It is unacceptable that LGBTI people escaping threats and detention overseas are then confronted with that here,” Just Equal spokesperson Brian Greig said in a press release. “Australia must be a safe refuge for people fleeing persecution, including anti-LGBTI hate and violence. This must also include a fair, efficient, and unbiased process for dealing with claims of asylum on the basis of sexuality.”

The two Saudi journalists have been a couple for 16 years. The government of Saudi Arabia has charged that one of the men leaked stories and secrets to other journalists–including a dissident journalist, Jamal Khashoggi–that embarrassed the regime of Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Prince Mohammed bin Salman has come under fire for the murder of Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Turkey last year. Following the murder, Donald Trump praised bin Salman.
