Part 2 – Hope Springs Eternal
Julie Bracken posted a photo:
By the time I stepped through the door, the journey was already beginning to fade behind me.
The room glowed with soft light and quiet conversation. Champagne sparkled in crystal glasses, laughter drifted between familiar faces and complete strangers, and for a few moments I simply stood there, taking it all in. There is something wonderfully liberating about walking into a room where nobody knows your history. Everyone has the opportunity to become exactly who they choose to be.
I realised that my earlier anxieties had quietly slipped away somewhere between Tongham and Mayfair. I wasn’t wondering whether I belonged. I already did.
As I smiled and joined the gathering, I couldn’t possibly have known that before the evening was over, one unexpected introduction would leave a memory that would outlast the music, the champagne and the party itself.
Hope rarely arrives with certainty.
It arrives with possibility.
