All in black and rainbows

My “Love Conquers All” shirt and Thrusters thigh-high rainbow sneaker boots that I wore to the OutReach Magic PRIDE Festival. They’re paired, temporarily, with rainbow-colored arm warmers; I say “temporarily” there because the instant I left the house, the August warmth and humidity told me that it wouldn’t be a good idea venturing out in such a thick fabric. (Thin and black, fine; bright but thick, not so much.)

Take note of the polyester black Calvin Klein skirt I’m wearing. Since I ran in a 5K race the night before (really, I did) and my legs still felt kind of stiff, I wanted to go for a “rock chick who stayed up all night and is really showing it” kind of look. To that end, I originally went with a black faux leather skirt. Unfortunately, that faux leather fabric started to show signs of cracking and warping the instant I put it on. (Funny, I hadn’t worn it in a while.) A different black faux leather skirt also had its fabric warping. (Geez, what is it with faux leather?) With time short and myself in a pinch, I went with a black non-faux leather option… which still got the “proudly rockin’ out” message over pretty nicely, I think.
