HRC Statement on Jeff Sessions
HRC released the following statement on Attorney General Jeff Sessions:
HRC President Chad Griffin: “The Attorney General bears a sacred responsibility for enforcing our laws, upholding the Constitution and protecting civil rights that are crucial to our community. We must be able to trust that our nation’s top law enforcement official will respect and abide by the rule of law. It is now clear that Jeff Sessions gave false testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee during his confirmation hearing that was misleading at best, and perjury at worst. Given that he has violated both the public trust and the law, we believe he should resign.”
