HRC Celebrates 2015; Highlights Historic Year for LGBT Equality

HRC’s newest site, Best of 2015, celebrates another historic and defining year for LGBT equality.

HRC launched the People’s Brief and celebrated nationwide marriage equality. We saw unprecedented visibility for transgender Americans, including transgender youth and parents of transgender children.

HRC worked with Congress to introduce the Equality Act and our Corporate Equality Index and Municipal Equality Index pushed for LGBT equality at the corporate and local level, respectively.

Together, we called on the Pope to support equality, advocated for LGBT equality worldwide, enhanced our work to fight HIV & AIDS and so much more.

While we had an incredible year, we were reminded just how far we still have to go. While we saw increased transgender visibility, we also saw an increase in anti-transgender violence. Nationwide marriage equality became the law of the land, but we saw an uptick of anti-LGBT legislation across the nation.

HRC thanks you, our members and supporters, for making these advances and campaigns possible. Counting down to 2016, please join us in celebrating the victories and moments from 2015
