Innovative Ways To Achieve Your Own Unique Wedding Style

The one-of-a-kind wedding look,  something that almost every couple wants to achieve. As desired as it is, though, completing that signature look is much easier said than done for most.

How often have you looked at a stunning wedding photo and wondered, “How on earth did they pull that off?” It might seem like magic, but it’s just a combination of careful planning and smart style choices.

Today, we’re going to demystify what it takes to achieve a unique wedding look and give you a few tips for planning your own.

Tips For Creating A You’re Unique Wedding Look

Go With A Theme:

Themes are a popular choice, and a very attractive one for many couples. Now, you may be thinking that because themes are hot right now, that must also mean they’re played out. No way you could do one without it coming off as stale, right? In truth, they open up a new world of possibilities.

Classic with a Twist:  The beach wedding is a tried-and-true option. Often, you’ll see lighter color palettes that incorporate blue, coral, and many softer hues. Why not mix things up with some green bridesmaid dresses and purple adornments? You can add in an analogous color for the decorations and then you’ve got a unique trio of colors that secures your personal to the beach theme.

Seasonal: Alternatively, you could go all out with a theme that is seldom, if ever, used. If you feel the rustic wedding is unoriginal, why not try an homage to your favorite media? Couples have taken a chance on everything from superhero weddings to Lego themed weddings, and succeeded in pulling the look off! You could even try a holiday theme like Halloween or Christmas. This will give you the chance to spruce up your design choices and enjoy the season all at the same time.

Unique Locale: Choose a special location. We’ve all seen weddings at the church or the vineyard, but how many have you seen on a mountaintop or a desert oasis? The choice in scenery will also give you some fresh design ideas for when you’re planning the wedding party’s look.

Throw In Some Extras: If planning an entire wedding around a particular theme seems exhausting, you could try adding one or two elements that guests will find refreshing and innovative. How about welcome/gift bags with handy items for your guests? A fantastic live band that can wow the crowd. Even something as simple as a signature cocktail can leave a lasting impression on your wedding guests. The Knot has a great article on unique wedding extras, and it goes to show you that your imagination is the limit!

The Practice of Thankfulness

The Practice of Thankfulness

For many of us, Thanksgiving kicks off a season of celebration which doesn’t really seem to stop until sometime in January. I probably don’t have to tell you that large gatherings of people, festive parties, and times when everyone is supposed to be part of a happy family can be especially hard if you’re single and wishing you weren’t, maybe even hoping that you would have been on your way to creating your own little family by now.

In some parts of the world, this season is cold and dark as well, which doesn’t do a lot for my mental state at the best of times. Often, by the time I find my seat at the Thanksgiving table, I don’t feel very festive. I often don’t feel like being thankful.

Maybe you’ve played that game so often employed around the table. Everyone goes around and mentions something they are thankful for. I’ve gone through phases where I’ve really struggled with this idea. On years when I’m feeling uncharitable, it can seem like a way to brag about blessings, and on years when I’m feeling pathetic, it can seem like an excruciating exercise to figure out what I’m going to say.

But there is evidence to suggest that gratitude is good for us, and that it encourages more gratitude. What if this simple practice extended into the difficult days of winter and helped you to see a bit more clearly?

Like any practice, gratitude can be awkward at first, but it gets easier with practice. This morning, for example, I’m grateful for the sun streaming in my window. My home in the Pacific Northwest doesn’t get a lot of sun at this time of year and I’m choosing to accept these rays as a gift. Last night, I cleaned my kitchen from top to bottom until it sparkled, after a long week of putting it off. This morning, when I walked in to make my tea, I was grateful to last night’s self for this lovely gift.

These aren’t the sorts of things I’d say around the table, of course. But it doesn’t mean they aren’t worth noting. In fact, once you start noticing them, it will likely become habit. My own tendency is to focus on what is wrong with my life, on what I wish would change, rather than on the gifts I’ve been given, simple or otherwise.

Last week, one of my best friends moved back to town. She has a three-month-old baby and now I’ll have a chance to be more present in his life and in hers. There’s a new season of the Great British Baking Show on Netflix. Yesterday a friend called out of the blue, just to talk. These are all reasons to be thankful.

Why not give it a try? Once a day, or every couple days, spend a little time with a notebook. Make a list. Or carry it with you and write things down during your day as they come to you. Collect your blessings in a place you can see them and return to them. Use them as ammunition against the moments when it feels like everything is going wrong in your life.

When it comes time for Thanksgiving dinner, if you happen to be at one of those gatherings where you’ll need to say you’re thankful for something, you’ll have a huge array of options. But don’t stop there. Let the practice carry you through December, January, beyond. Let gratefulness become habit. There is no downside.

It’s likely that I’ll still miss blessings in my life—I’m not perfect at this. But I want to be on the watch for them. I don’t want to always expect the worst. It’s so easy to find when you’re looking for it—in the world, in your own life—I want to expect wonder and beauty. I want to expect joy. Maybe if I’m looking I’ll see those things more often. That would be something to be thankful for.

Omarosa: ‘There’s Somebody in the White House Who’s Sleeping Around with Everybody’ – WATCH

Omarosa: ‘There’s Somebody in the White House Who’s Sleeping Around with Everybody’ – WATCH
Omarosa big brother

On Celebrity Big Brother, Beverly Hills housewife Brandi Glanville asked former White House aide Omarosa whether or not she slept with Donald Trump.

“Brandi!”, squealed Ross Mathews. “You cannot ask that question! … But I’d really like to know the answer.”

“Hell no,” replied Omarosa. “Now there is somebody in the White House who is sleeping around with everybody, but she is not me.”

Glanville went on to say that she had heard Apprentice contestants had slept with Donald Trump, but said that she had “never” heard Omarosa’s name.

“God no,” replied Omarosa. “I’m just ratings gold, that’s why…God that is disgusting.”

Omarosa has been unloading about her time in the White House since starting the show.

After a brief discussion about Trump’s immigration policies last week, Omarosa warned: “The crackdowns are happening and they’re aggressive, so they’re intentional, and they’re going to get worse. But don’t get me wrong. Obama administration was aggressive about deportation too. Nobody talks about it.”

She added: “We’re not okay. I’ve seen the plan. The round-up plan is getting more and more aggressive. He’s a numbers guy. He wants to outdo his predecessors.

“Can I just say this. As bad as y’all think Trump is, you would be worried about Pence. Everybody that’s wishing for impeachment might just want to reconsider their life. We would be begging for days of Trump back if Pence became president, that’s all I’m saying. He’s extreme. I’m Christian. I love Jesus, but he thinks Jesus tells him to say things. And I’m like, ‘Jesus ain’t say that.’ He’s scary.”

Last week, Omarosa told Ross Mathews about her time in the White House after he told her that he “never got” why she went there.

Omarosa told him that she felt it was a “call to duty” to her country, not Trump.

She said she was “haunted” by the president’s tweets “every single day” and “tried to be that person” to tell him to stop tweeting but that every time she tried “all of the people around him attacked me.”

“It was like, ‘keep her away from him, don’t get her access, don’t let her talk to him,’” she explained. “And Ivanka’s there, Jared’s there.”

Asked Mathews: “Who has that power to say ‘what’s going on?’”

“I don’t know. I’m not there,” replied Omarosa. “It’s not my circus, not my monkeys, I’d like to say not my problem but I can’t say that because — it’s bad.”

“Should we be worried?”, Mathews asked, to which Omarosa nods.

“It’s going to not be okay, it’s not. It’s so bad.”

Omarosa joined Shannon Elizabeth, Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Real Housewife Brandi Glanville, former NBA star Metta World Peace, UFC light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell, actors James Maslow and Marissa Winokur, TV personality Ross Matthews and Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez on the show, which is set to run for 13 nights.

RECENTLY: Omarosa Lawyering Up, May Have Secretly Taped Confidential WH Conversations

In December, Omarosa said that reports she was fired and escorted from the White House after tripping alarms and trying to gain access to the Trump residence were “100 percent false.”

“I resigned and I didn’t do that in the residence, as is being reported. John Kelly and I sat down in the Situation Room, which is a very secure, very quiet room in the White house and we had a very candid conversation…I like to hear all these interesting tales but I have to tell you that they are 100 percent false. Where are the pictures or videos? If I had confronted John Kelly, who is a very formidable person, it would garner enough attention for anyone in the room to at least take a picture or a video or something.”

Omarosa also denied she tried to gain access to the residence or was escorted off:

“The White House is the most secure place in the world. It is ridiculous to assert that anyone would be able to violate the security parameters that is outlined in the most secure building in the world. Not only it is ridiculous but it is also absurd…I wouldn’t want anyone nonetheless myself, to be able to run around or cause a disruption because it is secure for that reason.”

When asked about the deactivation of her pass by the Secret Service, she claimed that her access was changed and restricted after she said she was resigning.

A growing list of companies are pulling ads from Britain’s Daily Mail following a homophobic column by Richard Littlejohn blasting Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black for sharing an ultrasound photo of their baby on Valentine’s Day and having the gall to raise a child.

Said Littlejohn in the article: “I supported civil partnerships long before it was fashionable and I’d rather children were fostered by loving gay couples than condemned to rot in state-run institutions, where they face a better-than-average chance of being abused. That said, and despite the fact that countless single parents do a fantastic job, I still cling to the belief that children benefit most from being brought up by a man and a woman. Please don’t pretend two dads is the new normal”

He added: “What I also find slightly disconcerting is that this story was reported virtually everywhere without so much as a raised eyebrow, as if it would be impolite even to ask any questions about the parentage. For instance, is Daley or his husband the father? Was it Bill, or was it Ben? Or neither of them? More pertinently, never mind Who’s The Daddy? Who’s The Mummy?”
