Cristiano Ronaldo and Conor McGregor Fight for Title of World’s Tightest Abs – PHOTOS

Cristiano Ronaldo and Conor McGregor Fight for Title of World’s Tightest Abs – PHOTOS

Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo stepped into the ring this weekend with Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor. Not to fight, but rather to show off their taut torsos.

Ronaldo was reportedly in Vegas while on vacation after the Euro 2016 soccer championship. McGregor trains in Vegas, the so-called “fight capital of the world.”

Ronaldo posted a snap with McGregor in the UFC ‘Octagon’ with this caption: “Great to see you bro!!💪🏽🔝”

Instagram Photo

Not even going to speculate on that emoji use.

McGregor, who posed nude for ESPN’s ‘Body Issue’ this year, also posted a snap with Ronaldo, writing, “My brother Ronaldo dropped by the gym today! He is an animal. Thank you @cristiano, much respect! I will see you for that Forbes number 1 spot next year.”

McGregor was referring to Forbes Magazine’s list of the highest paid athletes in the world. Ronaldo topped last year’s list while McGregor came in at number 85.

Ronaldo was introduced to McGregor because he is friends with McGregor’s head coach, John Kavanagh.

Kavanagh, whose brother is gay, is a vocal gay rights activist. Both he and McGregor were proponents of Ireland’s same-sex marriage referendum, which passed last year.

McGregor and Ronaldo also celebrated Jennifer Lopez’s 49th birthday on Sunday with the singer, as their Instagrams show.

Here’s to hoping we’ll get to see the two in the ring again, practicing some more moves. Like this one.

DEM CONVENTION. Brian Sims on what it’s all about.

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe speaks to LGBT delegates:

NYC. More than 38,000 market-rate rentals to hit market in next three years: “Following news earlier this year of a slowdown in the luxury market due to a glut of inventory, some real estate analysts are wondering about the same in the market-rate rentals market. Over the next three years, more than 38,000 new market-rate rentals will be completed in the city, the Wall Street Journal reports, and this may lead to a reduction or flattening of rents, some real estate analysts speculate.”

HEALTH. Personality change may be early sign of dementia.

JOHN AMAECHI. The out former NBA star talks about the league moving its All-Star Game out of Charlotte over NC’s HB2: “I think it’s deeply important because all the positive rhetoric we’d want from the league has happened, and this was a test, I think, because sometimes the rhetoric is easy.”

JEREMY CLARKSON. Former Top Gear host offensively inserts himself into the transgender debate: “First of all, there are no transgender MPs that I’m aware of. So why use taxpayers’ money to provide a facility that isn’t necessary? You might as well install urinals suitable for Klingons.”

MERGERS. Verizon buying Yahoo in $4.8 billion deal. “The acquisition of Yahoo will put Verizon in a highly competitive position as a top global mobile media company and help accelerate our revenue stream in digital advertising,” Lowell C. McAdam, Verizon’s chairman and chief executive, said in a statement.

ITALY. Gay civil unions could begin in August: “the Italian government has responded to the practical and relational needs of many citizens, enabling them to have the support of a relationship that is legally regulated by the state, to fulfil their desire to live freely as a couple and share their lives, governed by the recognition of the related, essential rights relating to property, estate and inheritance, with the related obligations of mutual assistance and solidarity.”

COMIC-CON. Bisexual/pan community stands up and is heard: “The panel asked those in the audience to stand up if they saw themselves as any of the varied aspects of the bisexual/pan community, leading to a huge portion of the large audience in the room to stand to great applause in one of the most amazing moments of affirmation I have ever seen at San Diego Comic-Con.”

POKEMON GO. Do NOT play it at a Beyonce concert.

UNWANTED. Petition to keep hateful US pastor Steven L Anderson out of South Africa receives more than 36 000 signatures. “The Arizona-based preacher and Holocaust denier initially achieved online notoriety in 2014 after calling for gay people to be executed.”

He is also accused of six further counts of administering a poison, seven of rape and four sexual assaults against another eight men, it can be reported for the first time. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges, which allegedly took place between 2011 and 2015, at the Old Bailey on Monday.

Port, of Cooke Street, Barking, east London, sat with his hands clasped in front of him as each of the charges was read out in court.

Appearing in court via video link from Belmarsh prison, wearing smart black trousers and a light shirt, he spoke only to confirm his name and enter pleas during the brief hearing.

Volunteers Help HRC Connect in Arkansas

Post submitted by James Rector, Field Organizer HRC Arkansas

Last week a group of volunteers met in Little Rock with Michael Burke, Regional Membership Manager for Project One America, to discuss upcoming events and the importance of our members and supporters to the organization. Every day, HRC staff is on the ground across the nation working hard alongside volunteers, members and supporters to ensure full equality for the LGBTQ community. In addition to that work, we provide opportunities for members in the community to socialize and network.

The purpose of the HRC CONNECT community happy hours are to create opportunities for LGBTQ people and allies, including HRC staff, representatives from local LGBTQ groups and local LGBTQ and ally community members, to come together to socialize, network, have fun and learn about the work.

If you are a community organization in Arkansas who would like to partner on an HRC CONNECT event, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Set up an information table for your organization where you can pass out literature, promote events and sign people up;
  • Give a few remarks alongside HRC representatives during a short program;

Debbie Wasserman Schultz Booed Off Stage at Breakfast with Florida Delegates

Debbie Wasserman Schultz Booed Off Stage at Breakfast with Florida Delegates

Debbie Wasserman Schultz booed

Outgoing DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz made the puzzling decision to speak to a group of Florida delegates at a breakfast in Philadelphia ahead of today’s Democratic National Convention.

The appearance comes less than a day after she announced she’ll resign over revelations contained in the release of emails by Wikileaks which showed that certain top Democratic National Committee officials looked for ways to potentially damage Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign.

Wasserman Schultz was booed and met with cries of “shame, shame, shame” as she tried to speak to the delegation.

Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell Return in Trailer, Clip for ‘Prison Break’ Reboot: WATCH

Prison Break

New footage from the reboot of Prison Break starring Wentworth Miller debuted over the weekend at San Diego’s Comic-Con, as well as a new trailer.

The clip shows a gay prisoner who faces death at the hands of his fellow inmates for homosexuality, and Miller’s attempt to help him out by getting a plot rolling with a stick of gum. It’s set in Morocco.

Writes Coming Soon:

The original action drama centered on Michael Scofield (Miller), a young man determined to save his convicted brother, Lincoln Burrows (Purcell), from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison. In the all-new event series, filmed on location in Morocco, clues surface that suggest a previously thought-to-be-dead Michael may be alive. Lincoln and Sarah (Sarah Wayne Callies), Michael’s wife until he was assumed dead, reunite to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever, as three of Fox River State Penitentiary’s most notorious escapees, Sucre (Nolasco), T-Bag (Knepper) and C-Note (Dunbar), are pulled back into the action.

John Oliver Gives the Republican Convention the Recap It Deserves: WATCH

John Oliver Gives the Republican Convention the Recap It Deserves: WATCH

On Last Week Tonight, John Oliver took a look at last week’s main event, the “mismanaged s**tshow” that was the Republican National Convention, from Melania’s plagiarized speech to Ted Cruz getting booed off the stage.

Oliver takes note of this tweet:

Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn’t honor the pledge! I saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway. No big deal!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 21, 2016

Remarking: “But that’s not reassuring. If the captain of the Titanic had tweeted after the fact, ‘I saw that iceberg two hours before and sailed into it anyway. No big deal,’ you wouldn’t have thought ‘wow that captain sure ran a tight ship.”

Oliver thought the convention emphasized feelings over facts, such as when Antonio Sabato jr. stated that Obama is a Muslim, not because it’s fact, but because he believes it.

“This focus on feelings reached its apex in Donald Trump’s acceptance speech, which was light on concrete policy, but heavy on provoking strong emotions.”

Oliver concludes:

“It is worth noting that since President Obama took office, crime rates, the flow of illegal immigrants flowing over our borders, and unemployment benefits have all declined, and yet frighteningly, when reporters starting pointing that out, it didn’t seem to matter.”

Finally, Oliver brings up an old clip from The Apprentice which reveals what Donald Trump’s governing style will really be like.
