NEW HRC REPORT SAYS STATE AND FEDERAL OFFICIALS ARE FAILING LGBTQ COMMUNITY IN DATA COLLECTION: “It is imperative that municipal and state governments close the gap on data collection across this country — and we are calling on them to pass legislation to ensure every single LGBTQ person is counted,” said HRC Senior Vice President of Policy and Political Affairs JoDee Winterhof (@JoDeelive). “Congress should swiftly pass the LGBTQ Data Inclusion Act, which would require federal agencies to include voluntary questions on sexual orientation and gender identity in data collection instruments that include demographic data.” Check out “LGBTQ-Inclusive Data Collection: A Lifesaving Imperative” and more at HRC.

TROUBLING REPORT FROM THE ADVOCATE — TRANSGENDER WOMAN JA’LEYAH-JAMAR REPORTED KILLED IN KANSAS: She is at least the 19th transgender person reported killed this year. Media and police have misgendered her in initial reports, according to The Advocate’s Trudy Ring. Read more at The Advocate.
