As the transgenders were marching towards the city centre in a protest against the Scottish Supreme Court ruling, they were going past a small group of people hanging around, playing music, and handing out leaflets and flyers.

That was happening on Broadmead, not very far from the junction with Union Street. This area is approximately between the Pret A Manger café and the Tesco Express mini supermarket.

In the above photograph, this lady was handing out leaflets, you can see one in her hand, and spares in the sweater’s front pocket. I took the photos of her doing a dancing, and cropped the photo to get a tighter framing.

When the Scottish Supreme Court ruled that the definition of sex is sex at birth, many transgenders all around the United Kingdom staged protests against the ruling, with the support of the LGBT community.

I heard that there was going to be one in Bristol, and decided to drive down there, to do some photojournalism of the protest. It stared outside the Bristol council offices, and then the protesters marched into city centre.
