Why Did Tens Of Thousands Of People March In Paris To Revoke Same-Sex Marriage?

You’d think Paris would be at the very top of the list as far as places that support gay marriage, but there’s clearly more than a few detractors in the City Of Love.
As Pink News reports, thousands of said detractors stridently marched through the streets of Paris this weekend, calling for the Taubira law that legalized same-sex marriage to be repealed.
While they were at it, they also stridently marched around protesting 1.) the use of assisted reproduction techniques and 2.) surrogate mothers that help same-sex couples have children.

There were roughly 24,000 people at the parade, according to police. Apparently displeased with these numbers, organizers rounded up to the nearest zero, which they decided was 200,000.
ManifporTous, a shadowy organization made up of stridently marching citizens who oppose marriage equality, organized the demonstration.
According to Pink News, the group has been lying dormant over the last two years, but decided to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and put a protest together in order to pressure presidential hopefuls six months before the elections.
They stridently marched from the western edge of Paris at the Porte de Dauphine to Place du Trocadeo, proudly brandishing signs that read “In 2017, I will vote for the family,” and the equally catchy “Women’s wombs are not for sale.”

Though highly unlikely, Jean-Frédéric Poisson of the Christian Democratic Party might consider repealing the law if these efforts gain more traction.
None of the candidates were present, although François Fillon — who favors amending the law to deny same-sex couples the right to adopt — did send a message of support to the stridently marching protestors.

HRC Slams Trump for Promising to Appoint SCOTUS Justices ‘in the Mold of Antonin Scalia’ – WATCH

The Human Rights Campaign unveiled a new ad attacking Donald Trump for saying in the last presidential debate that he would appoint Supreme Court justices “in the mold of Justice Scalia.”
As our readers are no doubt aware, Justice Scalia was a stalwart and vocal opponent of LGBT rights who frequently denigrated LGBT people in his public remarks and in his opinions.
Via HRC:
“Donald Trump’s dangerous and hateful vision for our Supreme Court is to appoint justices in the model of Antonin Scalia — a man who spent his entire judicial career disparaging LGBTQ Americans, calling us murderers and polygamists,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “The future of the Supreme Court is at stake in this election, and we cannot allow Donald Trump to nominate a new generation of anti-LGBTQ judges who would perpetuate Justice Scalia’s legacy of discrimination. Hillary Clinton has long been a champion for the LGBTQ community and is the only candidate in this race who would ensure that the Supreme Court continues its historic progress securing equality for all Americans.”
Earlier this month, Griffin penned an op-ed detailing the terrible risk of giving Donald Trump the power to appoint judges. He noted that Trump’s list of potential Supreme Court nominees includes judges who have consistently ruled in favor of allowing discrimination against LGBTQ Americans.
With just 20 days until Election Day, the stakes couldn’t be more clear. Justice Scalia, during his three decades on the Supreme Court, used his position to further a narrow view of the Constitution, advocating for blatantly discriminatory laws targeting the LGBTQ community, limiting its right to privacy, and attempting to block marriage equality.
