Each year, millions of people “go purple” for Spirit Day in a united stand against bullying and to show support for LGBTQ youth. According to a 2015 GLSEN survey, more than half of LGBTQ students report being victimized based on sexual orientation, with a further three quarters of students who report hearing anti-LGBTQ remarks in school. Started in 2010 by high school student Brittany McMillan, Spirit Day now draws the participation of celebrities, corporations, media outlets, sports leagues, schools, faith institutions, national landmarks, and individuals around the world, who join together in a united stand against bullying.

Check out glaad.org/spiritday for more about how to stand against bullying and show support for LGBTQ youth. Also follow @GLAAD on Twitter to keep up to date with #spiritday news.

The translation of GLAAD’s Spirit Day Resource Kit into multiple languages is made possible by a generous grant from Google supporting GLAAD’s Global Voices Initiative. Global Spirit Day resource kits are presented by Logo’s Global Ally campaign.

The Gay-Themed, Fan-Made Vid Of Britney Spears’ “Change My Mind” Is Here

screen-shot-2016-10-20-at-3-36-41-pm

Two gay men, one gay anthem: See them prancing and dancing and romancing to the perky pulse of Britney Spears’ “Change My Mind” single. God, this is real.

Related: Acquaint Yourself With Britney Spears’ Harem Of Male Backup Dancers

It’s the inevitable gay-themed video that none of us asked for, but all of us deserve: A hodgepodge of probably conceptual dance moves intercut with familiar scenes from boilerplate passionate relationships: making out while an annoying sunset gets in your eyes, mussy sex followed by broody mornings, over-drinking, smashed cocktail glasses, and looking knowingly into each other’s eyes. That kind of thing.

They flit. They flirt. They flounce.

Keith Olbermann to GOP: ‘Compel Trump to Withdraw Now! This Is Your Responsibility’ – WATCH

Keith Olbermann to GOP: ‘Compel Trump to Withdraw Now! This Is Your Responsibility’ – WATCH

keith olbermann gop

Keith Olbermann called on the GOP to force Donald Trump to withdraw from the presidential race by any legal means necessary.

Olbermann was responding to Trump’s comments during the third presidential debate in which he refused to say he would accept the results of the election.

RELATED – Trump Promises to ‘Totally Accept’ the Election Results–If He Wins: WATCH

Said Olbermann,

“It was the first time in American history, through dozens of venomous painful campaigns and a series of impossibly close elections, the first and only time that a candidate of a major party had violated the fundamental precept of our democracy. It shakes every one of our freedoms, it mocks every dead American soldier, it spits in every sacrifice made under our flag.”

“Donald Trump is not invested in Democracy! Donald Trump is not invested in our Constitution! Donald Trump is not invested in America! Donald Trump is not invested in preventing people from being killed on the streets after an election like this were a Third World police state!

He declared, “Burn. In. Hell!”

Addressing Republicans, Olbermann said,

“Compel him to withdraw now! Litigate against him, find enough doctors and have him declared psychiatrically incompetent. At minimum, cut off his funding completely and denounce him in the strongest possible terms because this nightmare, this fascist, this Trump is now your responsibility.”

Watch, below.

Joe Wasn’t Allowed To Talk About Sexy Stuff In The Jonas Brothers, So He’s Making Up For Lost Time

screen-shot-2016-10-20-at-12-47-18-pm

In his younger days as one-third of The Jonas Brothers, the DNCE frontman was barred from talking about sex and romance, for obvious reasons.

“Hollywood Records were under Disney,” he tells NOTION, “and obviously just the age we were, we had to be careful with the certain things we wrote and said.”

We couldn’t be too sexual or romantic in certain ways. And that’s tough because at the same time you’re growing up and you want to write about these experiences you’re having as a young adult.”

Now being older, there’s new experiences that I get to have, or just as an adult, like touring and travelling… you go out for a few drinks after the show.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Jonas talks about his reinvention as your garden-variety, everyday, totally smoldering pop star, and his theoretically raunchy video for their new song, “Body Moves.”

The below video takes a behind-the-scenes glance at his “School Spirit” shoot for the mag with photographer Jack Bridgland, where Jonas strikes some “moody, misunderstood, handsome rebel loner” poses in a series of sleeveless denim jackets and slinky sportswear.

Santa Barbara DA Files Hate Crime Charges Following Assault On Gay Man

Santa Barbara DA Files Hate Crime Charges Following Assault On Gay Man

richard-schiwietz

Police in Santa Barbara, California have filed hate crime charges against a known felon who verbally and physically attacked a 64-year-old gay man.

It is alleged that John Savala (54) approached Richard Schiwietz and a friend on State Street and yelled “Faggot. Your mother’s a whore.” When asked to stop, Savala replied “You say one more word, and I’m going to coldcock you.” When Schiwietz challenged Savala to “Try it,” he was punched on the side of his head.

Today is Nat’l Coming Out Day & 1 week ago a hate crime occurred in downtown Santa Barbara against a gay man: t.co/bpWeG9v7K1

— Pacific Pride (@PacificPride) October 12, 2016

Schiwietz said that although Santa Barbara is “a very comfortable place to live,” he has encountered homophobia on a number of occasions but has chosen “not to be angry about it and just realize it is other people’s ignorance.”

RELATED: NYPD Officers Ignored Anti-Gay Hate Crime, Says Alleged Victim

Colette Schabram, the executive director of Pacific Pride Foundation in Santa Barbara, told KEYT.com:

“Our community is concerned right now. Richard has been living in Santa Barbara for nearly 15 years and is friends with members of our board of directors. Knowing this can happen to LBGTQ+ people any time, anywhere is a reality for many of us. But when it happens in your hometown, with others looking on, that reality is painful. We at Pacific Pride Foundation work hard every day for the equal rights and treatment of our LGBTQ+ neighbors. And we are calling on our community to step in and support one another when you see or hear violence on our streets.”

According to the Santa Barbara Independent, no hate crimes have been prosecuted in the city since 2011. On that occasion, Ryan Zietlow-Brown was sentenced to 22 years in prison after he stabbed a black man multiple times in the forehead with scissors.

Following an investigation, District Attorney Joyce Dudley announced plans to charge Savala with a felony hate crime.
