Roger Ailes May Be Removed as FOX News Chief: REPORTS

Roger Ailes

FOX News chief Roger Ailes, who is facing a probe of his management style sparked by a lawsuit from anchor Gretchen Carlson, may soon be out of a job, New York magazine reports:

Roger Ailes’s tenure as the head of Fox News may be coming to an end. Rupert Murdoch and sons Lachlan and James — co-chairmen and CEO, respectively, of parent company 21st Century Fox — have settled on removing the 76-year-old executive, say two sources briefed on a sexual-harassment investigation of Ailes being conducted by New York law firm Paul, Weiss. After reviewing the initial findings of the probe, James Murdoch is said to be arguing that Ailes should be presented with a choice this week to resign or face being fired. Lachlan is more aligned with their father, who thinks that no action should be taken until after the GOP convention this week. Another source confirms that all three are in agreement that Ailes needs to go.

21st Century Fox is not commenting.

The coming-of-age story centers on the young Dahmer as he struggles with a difficult family life and thoughts of wanting to kill. […]

Dahmer is one of the world’s most infamous serial killers who raped and murdered 17 men and boys in the late 1970s through the early 1990s. The gory tales of his murders often involved dismemberment and cannibalism. Dahmer, who was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and a psychotic disorder, was killed in prison by a fellow inmate in 1994. A compelling subject, he was previously played onscreen by Jeremy Renner in 2002 indie Dahmer. The actor received an Indie Spirit Award for the role, which helped launch his career. […]

#AM_Equality Tip Sheet: July 18, 2016

#AM_Equality Tip Sheet: July 18, 2016

OPENING DAY OF RNC FEATURES ANTI-LGBTQ OFFICIALS… DELEGATES ADOPT PLATFORM TARGETING LGBTQ AMERICANS: As media and delegates converge today on Cleveland for this week’s Republican National Convention, here’s the reality: the party platform that delegates just embraced is jam-packed with historically discriminatory anti-LGBTQ provisions, from opposing marriage equality to attacks on transgender people. Today, The Wall Street Journal’s Reid Epstein reported, “Republican delegates aiming to strip perceived anti-gay language from the party’s platform formally gave up Monday.” Here’s what that means:

  • The platform asserts that laws and government regulations should only “recognize marriage as the union of one man and one woman, endorses the deeply discriminatory “First Amendment Defense Act,” and launches a vile attack on transgender people. It’s a platform that perfectly fits not only this week’s parade of anti-LGBTQ convention speakers, including Scott Walker and Ted Cruz, but also reflects the anti-equality hostility of the Donald Trump and Mike Pence ticket. Read more here on Trump and Pence’s anti-equality positions.
  • Tonight, the RNC features anti-equality U.S. Senators: Among today’s RNC speakers are Senators Tom Cotton, Joni Ernst and Jeff Sessions. In 2015, Cotton defended an Arkansas bill aimed at enabling discrimination against minority groups. Sessions called the U.S. Supreme Court’s marriage equality ruling “unconstitutional.” Cotton and Ernst both voted against the Student Non-Discrimination Act, which would prohibit anti-LGBTQ discrimination in public schools,
  • You’re not going to believe this: OK Gov. Mary Fallin told CNN this morning that the GOP platform isn’t anti-LGBTQ… because there were “gay people on the committee” that drafted it. That would be one — Rachel Hoff, who emotionally, and unsuccessfully, begged her fellow party members to soften their anti-marriage equality stance.

PENCE’S DANGEROUS PROPOSALS ON HIV & AIDS FUNDING: While Pence gained national attention for signing a law that could have allowed businesses to refuse service to LGBTQ people on religious grounds, he was also behind terrible proposals calling for diverting money from HIV & AIDS programs to practitioners of the dangerous and debunked “conversion therapy.” According to BuzzFeed News, Pence pushed the proposal while running for Congress in 2000. As HRC President Chad Griffin said the day Trump announced Pence as his running mate, “Mike Pence has never left any question about his animus toward LGBTQ people.”

  • More on Pence’s appalling record on LGBTQ issues from the Huffington Post, Bustle and TIME. Bloomberg details how Pence’s anti-LGBTQ record is out of step with America’s biggest companies.

WHILE DEFENDING THE DISCRIMINATORY GOP PLATFORM, RNC CHAIR REINCE PRIEBUS MAKES STUFF UP: Over the weekend, RNC Chair Reince Priebus hit the interview circuit to defend the GOP’s appallingly anti-LGBTQ platform. During an interview with The Associated Press, Priebus denied that the proposed platform endorses the dangerous and widely-discredited practice of “conversion therapy,” despite language reading, “We support the right of parents to determine the proper treatment or therapy, for their minor children.” During an appearance on Meet the Press yesterday, Priebus said that that opposite-sex parents are the “best scenario” for children — an assertion widely debunked by scholarly research. PolitiFact also rated Priebus’ absurd claim “FALSE.”

ALABAMA PANEL WANTS #NOMOORE – SAYS DISCRIMINATORY JUDGE MUST GO: The Alabama Judicial Inquiry Committee is urging the state’s Court of the Judiciary to immediately remove the notoriously discriminatory Roy Moore — the chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court — from office. Moore’s charges stem from his decision to urge state probate court judges to not follow federal courts’ rulings on marriage equality. The Court of the Judiciary will decide whether he violated judicial ethics in a hearing scheduled for August 8th.

HB2 HEADS TO TRIAL NEAR ELECTION DAY: The Associated Press reports that pending lawsuits over North Carolina’s discriminatory HB2 law will likely head to trial in either late October or early November, “putting the divisive issue in the spotlight as voters prepare to cast ballots in the closely watched governor’s race.” NC Gov. Pat McCrory, who signed the bill into law, is locked in a heated battle for the governorship with the state’s Attorney General, Roy Cooper, who has refused to defend HB2 in court. A new NBC/WSJ poll has found that Cooper is leading McCrory by four percentage points.

SCHOOL DISTRICTS LEADING ON TRANS EQUALITY: Los Angeles Unified School District, Boulder Valley School District and District of Columbia Public Schools are three notable school districts that have long been working diligently to ensure the dignity and respect of transgender students — even before the Obama Administration issued its historic guidance in May. Read about them here.

Authorities Claim The Bastille Day Killer Was Bisexual

Authorities Claim The Bastille Day Killer Was Bisexual

The man who careened a truck through a crowd of revelers celebrating Bastille Day in Nice was allegedly bisexual, and used dating sites to meet both men and women for sex.

37-year-old Mohamed Labouaiej Bouhlel, who ISIS describes as a “soldier of Islam,” killed 84 people on July 14th during the attack.

After police shot and killed Bouhlel, they examined his phone to try to understand his motivations and track down accomplices.

Newsweek reports he kept photos of “both female and male conquests on his phone,” despite bisexuality and homosexuality being forbidden in Islam.

Friends and relatives claim he didn’t behave like a devout Muslim until only very recently.

Speaking to The Local, his father Mohamed Mondher Lahouaiej-Bouhlel said, “He didn’t pray, he didn’t fast, he drank alcohol. He even took drugs.”

Reportedly, there was at least one man he saw regularly and considered a boyfriend: a 73-year-old retiree.

According to a neighbor, Bouhlel went crazy after his wife left him: “He defecated everywhere, he cut up his daughter’s teddy bear and slashed the mattress. I don’t think there was a radicalization issue, I think there was a psychiatric problem.”

What The Hell Is Antigay Activist Josh Duggar Doing On Grindr?

What The Hell Is Antigay Activist Josh Duggar Doing On Grindr?

josh-duggar-grindr

Hmmm. It appears antigay reality star, admitted pedophile, serial philanderer and alleged sex addict Josh Duggar on Grindr.

Or is he?

A photo of 28-year-old Duggar holding up his cellphone and proudly displaying the Grindr app has been making the rounds on social media.

So what’s the deal?

Before we dig into this latest Duggar scandal, a little backstory… Josh has been keeping a low profile for over a year now. It all began in May of 2015 when he admitted to molesting two of his sisters. A few months after that, he was outed for having not one but two Ashley Madison accounts. After confessing to cheating on his wife while she was pregnant, Josh said he was going to sex rehab to learn how to control his urges. But when the time came to actually check in, he bailed. The icing on the cake came a few months after that when adult film actress Danica Dillon filed a lawsuit against him alleging he basically paid her $1,500 to beat her up while they had sex. That lawsuit was later dropped.

The rest of the Duggar family has done their best to distance themselves from their eldest sibling. But he keeps slithering back around. Most recently, the Hollywood Bossip recently ran a story about Duggar not appearing on his sisters’ new reality show. Included in the story was this image:

Screen Shot 2016-07-18 at 10.34.44 AM

Naturally, tongues started wagging:

Well, the folks over at Inquisitr did some sleuthing and quickly discovered that the picture is, wait for it, photoshopped:

It appears, though, that in this case, the shot was scooped up from a far older source. One of the oldest copies of this image on the internet can be found in a 2013 post on LiveJournal. Since that post is about Josh joining the Family Research Council, a photoshopped image associating Josh with a gay dating app is very apt.

The original image was posted to the Duggar Family Blog years ago in a post celebrating Josh’s 25th birthday:

We think we speak for gay men the world over when we say: Thank God!
