UK's Risque Gay Drama 'Cucumber' Gets a Phallic-filled Teaser Trailer: VIDEO

Cucumber

Queer as Folk creator Russell T. Davies has a new gay drama set to air on Channel 4 next year that is reportedly so risqué it “wouldn’t get past an American network.” And now a teaser for the show has been released online that is sure to get all the stateside prudes sweating.

Towleroad’s Jim Redmond wrote back in August about Cucumber and its tie-in shows:

Franklin_FoxSet to be aired next year, Cucumber looks at gay life across different generations and stars Vincent Franklin as a 46-year old man going through a relationship break-up, and Freddie Fox as a young object of his desires.

Cucumber will be broadcast alongside a sister show, Banana and a related web series called Tofu. According to Davies, the titles for the three shows came from a scientific study on the erection:

“It divided the hard-on into four categories, from soft to hard. One, tofu. Two, peeled banana. Three, banana. And four, cucumber. Right there and then, I knew I had my drama,” said Davies.

Vermont Artist Wins 3-Year Battle Against Chick-Fil-A for 'Eat More Kale' Trademark: VIDEO

Vermont Artist Wins 3-Year Battle Against Chick-Fil-A for 'Eat More Kale' Trademark: VIDEO

Bo-muller-moore

In 2011 Chick-Fil-A sent a cease and desist order to Bo Muller Moore claiming that the Vermont artist’s “Eat More Kale” t-shirts, created to promote local agriculture, infringed upon Chick-Fil-A’s slogan “Eat Mor Chikin”.

During the David-and-Goliath-esque battle that ensued, Chick-Fil-A’s lawyers barraged Muller-Moore with 30 examples of other companies which had faced similar claims against the anti-gay chicken giant, and had turned tail and ran, according to the AP.

Muller-Moore persisted and with the help of social media was soon joined by a number of volunteer lawyers who helped with the litigation. State officials also stood by the artist.

On Friday, outside the Vermont statehouse, Muller-Moore announced that the U.S. Patent Office had granted his application, though he had no idea of the specifics on the decision.

“I’d like to think that maybe some persistence and polite defiance, you know, and proving to them that we were in it for the long haul,” he said. “If it took us a decade, we’re going to fight for a decade.”

Tide Gets Personal in New Commercial Featuring Gay Couple Bickering About Laundry: VIDEO

Tide

Tide’s latest commerical airing in Canada is an advertising ode to one of the more mundane aspects of gay life – laundry habits. The ad features a gay couple playfully bickering about household laundry etiquette before ending with each guy poking fun at a past “mistake” of the other – one unfortunate “ex” included.

Last month, Procter & Gamble, the Cincinnati-based consumer products group that makes Tide, came out in support of marriage equaltiy.
