Security Guard On Trial For Hooking Up With High School Student In The Woods
A Texas jury is currently deliberating over a case involving a 38-year-old man who has been accused of having an improper relationship with a high school senior.
Christopher Lee Sutton (pictured) is on trial for hooking up with the student who he met while working as a security guard at The Woodlands High School in Montgomery County, TX.
Sutton is charged with five counts of second-degree felony improper relationship with a student. Each charge carries a penalty of two to 20 years in prison with a maximum fine of $10,000.
According to the prosecution, Sutton first reached out to the teen on a gay dating website in August 2012. They met two days later when the student contacted him asking for a ride home from a church function after his original ride fell through. During the drive they talked about hooking up, and eventually Sutton drove to a wooded area where they had both oral and anal sex.
Prosecutors claim there were at least five other sexual encounters between August 2012 and February 2013. They say Sutton used his authority over the teen to coerce him into having sex with him.
In February 2013, Sutton resigned from his job after the student’s then boyfriend, Brian Joseph Ortiz, threatened to expose Sutton to the media. The only problem? 25-year-old Ortiz worked as a referee and oversaw many athletic events at the high school. He was essentially committing the same crime as Sutton. As a result he, too, has been charged with having an improper relationship with the student.

Jurors spent six hours considering after the trail’s closing arguments. Deliberation will resume today.
