Pete Buttigieg Stopped Reading LGBTQ Media Because of Critiques on What Kind of Gay He Is<\/b><\/p>\n

Mayor Pete Buttigieg told SiriusXM\u2019s Clay Cane that he does not read LGBTQ media because he can\u2019t stand critiques calling him \u201ctoo gay<\/a>\u201d or \u201cnot gay<\/a> enough\u201d or articles asking if he\u2019s the \u201cwrong kind of gay<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Said Buttigieg to Cane: \u201cI\u2019m sure you\u2019ve heard this before in LGBT circles that more masculine presenting men<\/a> have more access. How different would it be if you were quote unquote \u2018more effeminate?\u2019<\/p>\n

Replied Buttigieg: \u201cIt\u2019s tough for me to know, right, because I just am what I am, and you know, there\u2019s going to be a lot of that. That\u2019s why I can\u2019t even read the LGBT media anymore, because it\u2019s all, \u2018he\u2019s too gay<\/a>,\u2019 \u2018not gay<\/a> enough,\u2019 \u2018wrong kind of gay<\/a>.\u2019 All I know is life became a lot easier when I just started allowing myself to be myself, and I\u2019ll let other people write up whether I\u2019m \u2018too this\u2019 or \u2018too that.’\u201d<\/p>\n
