New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees appears<\/a> in a new video<\/a> for anti-LGBTQ group Focus on the Family. <\/p>\n

According to HRC<\/a>, Focus on the Family opposes same-sex<\/a> marriage and adoption by gay<\/a> couples<\/a>. They support gay<\/a> conversion therapy and believe transgender people are \u201cmentally ill\u201d and \u201csuffer from a devastating condition.\u201d The group also accused anti-bullying groups in schools of promoting homosexuality. Focus on the Family has said the legislation prohibiting anti-LGBTQ workplace discrimination must be stopped and believes business owners have the right to discriminate against gay<\/a> people based on religious beliefs.<\/p>\n

In the video<\/a>, Brees promotes \u201cBring Your Bible to School Day\u201d on October 3.<\/p>\n

Big Easy Magazin<\/em>e reports that Brees has been involved with the group since at least 2010<\/a>: \u201cInterestingly, the video<\/a> Brees filmed for Focus on the Family was hidden from the group\u2019s Facebook timeline shortly after it was published. However, it\u00a0remains available<\/a> on smaller church pages who have shared it, as well as on the group\u2019s\u00a0YouTube channel<\/a>. This might lead fans to believe that perhaps Brees wasn\u2019t aware of who he was supporting. However, research shows that this is a long term partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n
