As society accepts the evolving definitions of sexuality and gender, the process of coming out has become more complex. Stars like Sam Smith<\/a> and Jonathan Van Ness<\/a> \u2013 celebs we already knew as gay<\/a> \u2013 are now publicly celebrating their nonbinary gender identifies.<\/p>\n

Here are the 14 celebs who have come out in 2019 so far.<\/p>\n

Valentina<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI identify as nonbinary,\u201d the RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race<\/em><\/a> fan favorite told Out<\/em> in a January interview. \u201cI don\u2019t completely feel like a man<\/a>, I don\u2019t completely feel like a woman<\/a>. I feel like a goddess. I feel like I\u2019m my own gender.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt Pacifici<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The retired Major League Soccer stud came out in a January Instagram post that featured his boyfriend. He later explained his decision to come out publicly to Outsports<\/em>: \u201cWhen you\u2019re in a relationship that makes you happy, and on social media you see people posting about their girlfriends<\/a>, it feels weird not being a part of that. You want them to know. This relationship is the one that makes me the happiest ever in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stormy Daniels<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The adult film star confirmed that she was bisexual<\/a> in January during a Twitter argument with conservative pundit Tomi Lahren<\/a>. After making a crude sexual innuendo, a Twitter user questioned if Daniels was a lesbian<\/a>. She clarified, tweeting, \u201cNope\u2026I like to fuck<\/a> men<\/a> and women<\/a>. The Dear Evan Hanson<\/em> star opened up about his sexuality in February, saying that he\u2019s been out to his family since he was 12 years old. With the release of his music video<\/a> for \u201cEase My Mind,\u201d in which he has a male<\/a> love interest (played by gay<\/a> actor Charlie Carver<\/a>), he wanted to make sure that the visual represented the story behind the song: \u201cIt was just, \u2018We\u2019re going to represent what this was inspired by,\u2019 which was this man<\/a> that I was in love with. So it was really a no-brainer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sam Smith<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

He explained his decision to come out in a May interview with Time<\/em>: \u201c[People] think this has to do with pushing an agenda on kids and it doesn\u2019t,\u201d he said about deciding to come out. \u201cWhat it does is send a message to kids that whoever they are, however they identify, that\u2019s celebrated and valued and okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eugene Lee Yang<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The most elaborate coming out of 2019 goes to YouTube star Eugene Lee Yang, who wrote and directed a music video<\/a> to share his truth. As one-fourth of the comedian group Try Guys, Yang uploaded the video<\/a> their channel\u2019s 6 million subscribers in June. \u201cI created this music video<\/a> as my personal way of coming out as a proud gay<\/a> man<\/a> who has many unheard, specific stories to tell,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
