GLAAD has partnered with the LGBTQ community platform them<\/em>. to share a series of GLAAD Media Institute training videos<\/a> over the next five weeks. By promoting various media techniques and skills that can enhance LGBTQ advocacy and storytelling, the partnership aims help to train and mobilize the next generation of LGBTQ media ambassadors. The five-week video<\/a> series will cover a wide range of topics, including how to prepare for a successful interview, target the right audience, and use storytelling to change hearts and minds. The GLAAD Media Institute enables people to build the core skills and techniques that effectuate positive cultural change and accelerate acceptance for the LGBTQ\u00a0community through training, consulting and research. As a whole, these pillars aim to enhance effective activist storytelling, position organizations to take a stand for justice, and develop data and metrics for LGBTQ representation and acceptance.<\/p>\n

Through its training, workshops and courses, the GLAAD Media Institute is establishing a nationwide network of 10,000 LGBTQ\u00a0and allied students, activists and spokespeople who aim to move hearts and minds in national and local media markets. The Institute\u2019s training has helped to increase accurate and inclusive storytelling in media, educate Hollywood film and TV creators to create compelling LGBTQ\u00a0storylines, improve reporting about LGBTQ\u00a0issues and people by media outlets, and create a database of research and resources on best practices.<\/p>\n
