Milo Yiannopoulos has been barred from Australia following remarks he made on social media about the Christchurch, New Zealand terror attacks.<\/p>\n

Wrote the Australian immigration minister David Coleman<\/a>: \u201cMr Yiannopoulos\u2019 comments on social media regarding the Christchurch terror attack are appalling and foment hatred and division. The terrorist attack in Christchurch was carried out on Muslims peacefully practicing their religion.\u00a0 It was an act of pure evil. Australia stands with New Zealand and with Muslim communities the world over in condemning this inhuman act.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABC News reports<\/a>: \u2018Yiannopoulos had described Islam as a \u201cbarbaric, alien\u201d religious culture on social media after the terror incident, prompting the Government\u2019s change of heart. \u201cI\u2019m banned from Australia, again, after a statement in which I said I abhor political violence,\u201d Yiannopoulos said on social media after the announcement.\u2019<\/p>\n

Yiannopoulos had been barred<\/a> from the country two weeks ago, but Coleman relented<\/a> after pressure from conservative MPs to allow him in. The MPs had argued barring him would be a blow to freedom of speech.<\/p>\n

Last\u00a0December<\/a>, Yiannopoulos was kicked off the fundraising site\u00a0Patreon<\/a>\u00a0after one day using the service, because the platform doesn\u2019t allow \u201cassociation with or [support of] hate groups.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, it was reported that he was $4 million in debt.<\/p>\n
