Gay Trump Supporter Thought to Be Behind Leak of Racy Jeff Bezos Photos to \u2018National Enquirer\u2019<\/b><\/p>\n

Michael Sanchez<\/a>, a gay<\/a> Trump supporter and the brother of Jeff Bezos\u2019 mistress Lauren Sanchez, is behind the leak of Bezos\u2019 sexts<\/a> to the National Enquirer<\/em>, according to The Daily Beast<\/a>, which built its report from multiple sources inside AMI.<\/p>\n

The Daily Beast adds<\/a>: \u2018No one who spoke to The Daily Beast implied that Michael Sanchez in any way hacked his sister\u2019s phone, and he has not been charged with any crime. In fact, three people familiar with the Bezos-funded probe told The Daily Beast in late January that it had found no evidence of a hack. However, Bezos\u2019 investigators have strongly suspected Sanchez was the leaker since at least last week, according to two people familiar with the investigation. \u201cThere is no one inside this inquiry process who doesn\u2019t believe he\u2019s ground zero,\u201d one of those sources said. Abramowitz, the AMI lawyer, appeared to confirm this in his Sunday interview, saying, \u201cAny investigator that was going to investigate this knew who the source was.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n

Adds Jezebel<\/a>: \u2018Sanchez, who\u00a0previously worked<\/a>\u00a0for MTV as its director of sales and marketing and is\u00a0described\u00a0<\/a>by the\u00a0Washington Post\u00a0<\/em>(which Bezos owns) as a \u201cpro-Trump Hollywood talent manager who is also an acquaintance of provocative Trump backers Roger Stone and Carter Page\u201d and a \u201ctypical West Hollywood gay<\/a> man<\/a>\u201d by LGBTQNation (which notes he and his husband dressed as handbags for Halloween in 2017), has\u00a0denied<\/a>\u00a0that he was the leaker and insisted to the\u00a0Post<\/em>\u00a0that he wants \u201cto clear my name by telling the truth.\u201d He also told the\u00a0Post\u00a0<\/em>that several people at the\u00a0National Enquirer<\/em>\u2019s parent company, American Media Inc., told him that the tabloid wants to do \u201ca takedown to make Trump happy.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n

Elkan Abramowitz, who represents AMI CEO David Pecker, told George Stephanopoulos on ABC News\u2019 This Week<\/em> that the source of the photos was well-known to both Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, denying that the Amazon CEO was blackmailed.<\/p>\n

Said Abramowitz: \u201cIt absolutely is not extortion and not blackmail. The story was given to The National Enquirer<\/em> by a reliable source that had been giving information to the National Enquirer<\/em> for seven years prior to this story. It was a source that was well known to both Mr. Bezos and Miss [Lauren] Sanchez.<\/p>\n

Asked by Stephanopoulos if Michael Sanchez was the source, Abramowitz replied: \u201cI can\u2019t discuss who the source was. It\u2019s confidential within AMI, so I\u2019m not going to answer who the source was. It was somebody close to both Bezos and Miss Sanchez.\u201d<\/p>\n
