Malek is speaking out about the allegations of sexual abuse that have arisen in recent weeks about Bryan Singer, who directed him in his Oscar-nominated performance for\u00a0Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em>.<\/p>\n Rami Malek<\/a>\u00a0put all of his focus into\u00a0portraying Queen frontman Freddie Mercury<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 so much so that he wasn\u2019t aware of the allegations surrounding the film\u2019s director\u00a0Bryan Singer\u00a0according\u00a0to\u00a0<\/a>People\u00a0<\/a><\/em>magazine.<\/a><\/p>\n On Tuesday, shortly after learning he\u00a0earned an Oscar nomination for best actor<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em><\/a>, Malek, 37, explained where his mindset was in the early stages of filming the blockbuster biopic.<\/p>\n \u201cAs far as I knew, I was considered before Bryan was even attached,\u201d he\u00a0told<\/a> the\u00a0Los Angeles Times<\/em>. \u201cSo I had my head down preparing for this for about a year ahead of time, and I never really looked up.\u201d<\/p>\n Of his time working with Singer, 53, who was repeatedly accused of sexual misconduct, Malek said, \u201cI didn\u2019t know much about Bryan.
