VARIETY<\/em> REPORTS CHICAGO PD SEEKING \u201cPERSONS OF INTEREST\u201d IN ATTACK ON JUSSIE SMOLLETT: \u00a0<\/strong>The Chicago Police Department has released two images from surveillance video<\/a> of \u201cpotential persons of interest\u201d in the attack of \u201cEmpire\u201d actor Jussie Smollett<\/a>, Variety\u2019s<\/em> Ted Johnson (@tedstew<\/a>) reports. Chicago police tweeted this alongside the photos: \u201cPhotos of people of interest who were in area of the alleged assault & battery of Empire<\/a> cast member. While video<\/a> does not capture an encounter, detectives are taking this development seriously & wish to question individuals as more cameras<\/a> are being reviewed.\u201d Smollett was attacked Tuesday night; his assailants poured an unknown substance on him, put a rope around his neck and called him anti-Black and anti-LGBTQ slurs.
