The movie will be based on the 1980s Mattel line of strangely muscularly proportioned action figures that launched a successful afternoon cartoon series that ran from 1983 to 1985 and is beloved by a generation of Millennials that have flooded the coffers of other He-Man<\/em> contemporaries from The Transformers<\/em> to GI Joe <\/em>(which Tatum starred in).<\/p>\n Consequence of Sound<\/em> said<\/a> of the deal:\u00a0 \u201cAs of now, it\u2019s unclear whether they\u2019ll be rewriting\u00a0David S. Goyer<\/a>\u2019s original script, who remains a producer. Goyer isn\u2019t exactly known for comedy like Marcum and Holloway, so it\u2019s likely they wanted to go in a more tongue-in-cheek direction. It worked for Warner Bros., whose similarly fantastical\u00a0Aquaman<\/em><\/a>\u00a0has shored up nearly a billion dollars for the studio.
