Jeffrey A. Willy says\u00a0he \u201cendured harassment, a hostile work environment, and discrimination.\u201d\u00a0He left the company in September 2018. The\u00a0lawsuit\u00a0<\/a>was filed in federal court in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n In one allegation Willy says a supervisor spoke derisively of homosexuals and used a homophobic slur.<\/p>\n Another allegation said that while waiting for an attendant to finish cleaning the men<\/a>\u2019s restroom, a co-worker told him to use the women<\/a>\u2019s restroom. \u00a0\u201cIf all the weirdo transgenders are using whatever restroom they want to,\u201d the co-worker is quoted as saying,\u00a0\u201cthe rest of us might as well.\u201d<\/p>\n A spokesman for Lilly issued a statement<\/a> saying\u00a0the company \u201ccan\u2019t comment on the specifics of pending litigation.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDiversity and inclusion are vital foundations of Lilly\u2019s culture,\u201d the statement said. \u201cRespect for people has long been one of our core Lilly values \u2014 understanding, respecting and valuing differences among our employees and the people we serve.
