Slate<\/em> did a survey and saw that out of the 86,840 members on BateWorld, 50 percent identified as gay<\/a>. 10 percent (8,355 members) considered themselves to be straight. 30 percent said they were bisexual<\/a>,\u00a04 percent solosexual and 5 percent did not indicate their sexual orientation.<\/p>\n \u201cBut that 10 percent claiming to be Str8 is significant,\u201d says Slate,\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0\u201cBased on higher rates of public closetedness among bi<\/a> men<\/a>, we can even extrapolate that a healthy portion of those who list themselves as bi<\/a> are not publicly open about their bisexual<\/a> identities. Then there\u2019s the 5 percent of members who have chosen not to identify. So I\u2019m going to estimate that anywhere between 15 and 30 percent of BateWorld members are straight in the world outside of the bate. That\u2019s a lot of not-gay<\/a> dudes with profiles on a website for men<\/a> who like to masturbate with other men<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n One voter was quoted as saying: \u201cNo. Being homosexual is an attraction. You can bond and bate with a bro and not want a homosexual relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n Another user, when asked by Slate<\/em> whether the sexual orientation of the man<\/a> turns the experience from\u00a0homosocial<\/a>\u00a0to homosexual, said: \u201cI usually find more common ground with straight and bi<\/a> guys<\/a> since there\u2019s usually firm ground rules and we can usually share more about what we enjoy together.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cWe all have and want to share our cocks<\/a> so don\u2019t overthink it.
