NBC News reports<\/a>: \u201cThe\u00a0survey<\/a>\u00a0asked 1,500 adults across the U.S. a series of questions on topics ranging from politics to baseball from Oct. 14 to Oct. 16. One question asked, \u201cHow much discrimination do the following people face in America today?\u201d Respondents were then presented with a list of different demographic groups and could choose \u201cnone at all,\u201d \u201cnot much,\u201d a fair amount\u201d or \u201ca great deal.\u201d Forty-nine percent of Trump voters surveyed said men<\/a> face either \u201ca great deal\u201d (18 percent) or \u201ca fair amount\u201d (31 percent) of discrimination in America today. By contrast, this same group found 41 percent of LGBTQ people, 30 percent of women<\/a>, 38 percent of African-Americans and 42 percent of Mexican-Americans faced either \u201ca great deal\u201d or a \u201cfair amount\u201d of discrimination.<\/p>\n The Hill adds<\/a>: \u201cBy contrast, only 11 percent of those who cast a vote for Democratic nominee\u00a0Hillary Clinton<\/span>\u00a0in the 2016 presidential election said men<\/a> face discrimination. Ninety-two percent of Clinton voters said LGBTQ people face either \u201ca great deal\u201d or \u201ca fair amount\u201d of discrimination, with similar figures for\u00a0Muslims (95 percent), immigrants (92 percent), Arab-Americans (91 percent), African-Americans and Mexican-Americans (90 percent each), and women<\/a> (88 percent).\u201d<\/p>\n GLAAD VP Zeke Stokes told NBC News that much of the blame for those numbers falls squarely on the White House:\u00a0\u201cSince taking office, President Trump has been the bully-in-chief, with egregious attacks including ongoing efforts to\u00a0ban transgender soldiers from openly serving in the military\u00a0and\u00a0revoking nondiscrimination protections for transgender youths at school.\u201d<\/p>\n Gays for Trump founder Peter Boykin said this:\u00a0\u201cI think we are all being discriminated by each other.\u00a0Right now, the market is more open for people to be of color or gay<\/a>.\u00a0The tables now have turned where it\u2019s now hurtful to your personal prosperity to be a plain, cisgender white male<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n The post Trump Voters Say Straight White Men More Discriminated Against Than LGBTQ People, Minorities: Poll<\/a> appeared first on Towleroad Gay News<\/a>.<\/p>\n
