Chris Cuomo and Seth Meyers Mull Brett Kavanaugh\u2019s Cowardly Reaction to Parkland Victim\u2019s Father and the White House Lie About It: WATCH<\/b><\/p>\n

One much-discussed moment at yesterday\u2019s confirmation hearing for Trump SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh happened when Fred Guttenberg, the father of a victim of the Parkland mass school shooting, approached Kavanaugh to shake his hand. Kavanaugh responded with cowardice, refusing to shake Guttenberg\u2019s hand before being escorted off by security.<\/p>\n

More telling was the White House\u2019s response to the moment. CNN\u2019s Chris Cuomo discussed it with Seth Meyers (above).<\/p>\n

Said Cuomo:\u00a0\u201cI believe you will see the judge recognize the man<\/a> and the gesture. He does nothing<\/em>. Turns away. And then security escorts him. The White House says I\u2019m completely wrong, that the video<\/a> is clear evidence of the judge wanting<\/em> to connect, not having time because he was whisked away by security.\u201d<\/p>\n

After watching the video<\/a>, Cuomo adds: \u201cThe father of one of the kids who was murdered at Parkland reaches out his hand, says his name, and you don\u2019t shake their hand.\u00a0Now, first thing we have to do is give the judge an ability to explain, okay<\/em>? What was your understanding of it? Why did it happen that way?\u00a0 My concern about it is twofold. We are not allowing ourself to disagree with anybody with decency any more. The president very much foments that. The second thing is the \u2018don\u2019t believe your lying eyes\u2019 stuff that comes out of the White House\u2026That was clear evidence that it wasn\u2019t the judge turning away from a man<\/a> with their outreached hand?<\/em> I mean, it\u2019s just crazy talk.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuomo and Meyers went on to talk about the reports in Bob Woodward\u2019s book, Fear<\/em>.<\/p>\n
