A video<\/a> shot in mid-June in which a drunk racist harasses a woman<\/a> for wearing a shirt bearing the Puerto Rican flag has lit up social media. The incident in the clip, which is disgusting, is made more disturbing by the fact that a police officer is standing by as the woman<\/a> continues to be harassed.<\/p>\n Says the man<\/a>, identified as Timothy Trybus: \u201cWhy is she wearing that sh*t? \u2026 If you\u2019re an American citizen, you should not be wearing that shirt in America\u2026You\u2019re not an American\u2026If you\u2019re an American, you wouldn\u2019t be wearing that.\u201d<\/p>\n Almost ten minutes go by before additional officers show up to handle the situation.<\/p>\n The Chicago Tribune<\/em> reports<\/a>: \u201cThe officer in question has been placed on desk duty as an internal investigation progresses, a local congressman called for a federal probe into the matter and the video<\/a> prompted multiple calls<\/a> for the police officer to resign or be fired. Even the governor of Puerto Rico tweeted about it as views of the video<\/a> approached the 2 million mark.\u201d<\/p>\n Watch the video<\/a>:<\/p>\n The investigation is ongoing and the officer involved has been assigned to desk duty pending the outcome.
