A Boston-area teen<\/a> is under arrest and charged with a hate crime after he allegedly held a 50-year-old man<\/a> captive inside a basement apartment for four days, starved him and beat him with a bat because he\u2019s gay<\/a>.<\/p>\n FRAMINGHAM: Sugrue Jackson is accused of assaulting, & holding a man<\/a> against his will for 4days. Police say, this was a hate crime. \u201cSugrue knew the victim was gay<\/a>,&used him for favors\u201d. pic.twitter.com\/o1jayKIhLI<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Malini Basu (@WFXTMalini) July 2, 2018<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Police in the Boston suburb of Framingham discovered the man<\/a>,\u00a0Otoni\u00a0Eliseu, after someone else called in a report about a man<\/a> being beaten with a bat.<\/p>\n Boston 25 News reports<\/a>: \u201cJackson Sugrue, 19. of Framingham, is facing a hate crime charge because Eliseu alleges he kept yelling homosexual slurs as Sugrue assaulted him, the prosecution said\u2026At the scene, officers found Eliseu\u00a0wearing only a pair of pants, lying on the ground\u00a0covered in blood, bruises and scratches.\u201d<\/p>\n Eliseu, who had been living in the woods, was staying in the church basement and had used crack with Sugrue before Sugrue threatened him, Boston 25 adds<\/a>: \u2018On Saturday, the prosecution alleges Sugrue\u00a0pulled Eliseu\u00a0from his bed onto the floor and began attacking him repeatedly by stepping on his throat and choking him. Eliseu\u00a0claims it was a hate crime because he is gay<\/a>. \u201cHe attacked me on my back, on my butt<\/a>, [saying] \u2018you\u2019re gay<\/a>, you like me,’\u201d said Eliseu. Eliseu also claims Sugrue\u00a0beat him with a coffee table while yelling out homosexual slurs and referencing his sexuality, allegedly saying \u201cI know you\u2019re gay<\/a>.\u201d Eliseu\u00a0also said Sugrue\u00a0beat him with a fire extinguisher. Eliseu\u00a0told Boston 25 News he begged and cried to get out of the bathroom. On Saturday, he managed to break free and run for his life.\u2019<\/p>\n Sugrue\u2019s attorney and parents claim that Sugrue is the victim, Metro West Daily News<\/em> reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n Sugrue\u2019s attorney, Kenneth Gross argued for Sugrue\u2019s release.<\/p>\n Gross claimed Sugrue was actually the victim. He said the 50-year-old man<\/a> was trying to take advantage of his 19-year-old client.<\/p>\n \u201cHe (alleged victim) was trying to entice my client to do things that were against his nature,\u201d Gross said.<\/p>\n Sugrue\u2019s parents, Terry and Frank, were shocked and dismayed by the story told by the alleged victim. They spoke with the Daily News on Monday.<\/p>\n \u201cMy son is a victim of a 50-year-old man<\/a>,\u201d said Terry Sugrue.
