1)<\/strong>\u00a0A new trailer has been released for the upcoming film,\u00a0Skate Kitchen,\u00a0which premiered at this years Sundance film festival. <\/a>The film, which includes a lesbian<\/a> character\u00a0in the ensemble, follows a teen<\/a> who finds her home in an all-girl<\/a> skateboarding group after she has a falling-out with her mother. Watch the trailer below which features a brief glimpse of a romance between two of the girls<\/a> in the\u00a0 group.\u00a0Skate Kitchen\u00a0hits limited theaters on August 10.<\/p>\n

2)<\/strong> Netflix\u2019s show Dear White People <\/em>is renewed for a third season.<\/a> Highlighting issues of race, sexuality, and other forms of discrimination, the show follows black students in a predominately white Ivy League university. The series provides representation for a range of these characters, including breakout character Lionel, and other queer people of color. More Netflix news includes a new\u00a0trailer for their special The Comedy Lineup: Part 1. Featuring out comedians Sabrina Jalees and Sam Jay, the special that will premiere on July 3 highlights eight comedians as they each perform 15 minute stand-up sets. Watch the trailer below.<\/p>\n

\"\"3) <\/strong>In the new Starz series, Now Apocalypse<\/em><\/a>,<\/em> Avan Jogia is set to play the love interest to Tyler Posey\u2019s character, Ulysses, after the two connect over a dating app.\u00a0 The series, from out co-creator Gregg Araki, tells the story of Ulysses and his friends as they deal with finding love and fame in Los Angeles. Additionally, Netflix\u2019s The<\/em> Crown<\/em> added out actor Ben Daniels to the cast<\/a>, after a time jump that sets the story for season 3. Daniels will play the aged photographer Lord Snowden in the critically acclaimed biographical series about the UK\u2019s Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n

\"\"4)<\/strong>\u00a0Out actor Denis O\u2019Hare is confirmed for a recurring role in the second season of HBO\u2019s series, Big Little Lies<\/em><\/a>. <\/em>O\u2019Hare will play a new character in the Emmy Award-winning series about the lives of three women<\/a> who become involved in a murder investigation. In more casting news, out actress known for her role in Wonder Woman<\/em>, Elena Anaya,<\/a> is cast along many others in the new drama series Jett<\/em>. After being released from prison, thief Daisy \u201cJett\u201d Kowalski is forced back into the world of crime after being exploited by dangerous criminals.<\/p>\n

5)<\/strong>\u00a0Queer singer Halsey just released a new video<\/a> for her song, \u201cStrangers\u201d, featuring out bisexual<\/a> singer and previous member of Fifth Harmony, Lauren Jauregui. 6)<\/strong>\u00a0Queer singer St. Vincent released a video<\/a> for her single \u201cFast Slow Disco\u201d, a new remix of her song \u201cSlow Disco\u201d off the album Masseduction.<\/em><\/a> The video<\/a> takes place in a gay<\/a> club and showcases the singer among several gay<\/a> men<\/a>.\u00a0For tickets to her 2018 tour click here<\/a>, and watch the video<\/a> below. 7)<\/strong> In other music news, queer-trans<\/a> singer known from the Berlin underground music scene, SOPHIE, released her debut album titled Oil of Every Pearl\u2019s Un-Insides<\/em><\/a>. <\/em>Click here to listen to the album.<\/a> Another queer artist ,King Princess, just released her debut album, Make My Bed<\/em><\/a>, along with a video<\/a> for the song of the same name. 8)<\/strong> Out singer Scott Hoying of Pentatonix teamed up with artists FRANKIE and One Night for a new single along with a Grease-<\/em>inspired video<\/a> titled \u201cGhost\u201d. The video<\/a>, which also stars out actor Clark Moore, pays homage to the classic musical in a gender role reversal of the greaser gang T-Birds and the Pink Ladies. Watch the video<\/a> below. Out singer Bobby Newberry released a new video<\/a> for his single \u201cLit\u201d featuring Aleff.<\/em><\/a> Previous contestant of Drag Race<\/em>, drag queen Laganja Estranja, makes an appearance in the \u201cLit\u201d video<\/a> and you can watch it below.Out singer Aiden James also released a new video for his single, \u201cColorblind.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

9)<\/strong> The TCA (Television Critics Association) have officially released nominees for the 2018 awards. Several nominees were LGBTQ-inclusive including Netflix\u2019s comedy One Day at a Time, <\/em>and popular reality reboot Queer Eye, <\/em>as well as This is Us, The Handmaid\u2019s Tale,<\/em> and more. \u00a0Click here to see the full list of nominations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

10) <\/strong>More awards news includes winners for the MTV Movie and TV Awards. In addition to out actress and writer Lena Waithe winning the Trailblazer Award, winners include Loving Simon<\/em> winning the Best Kiss for the scene with Nick Robinson and out actor Keiynan Lonsdale and documentary about queer star Lady Gaga titled Gaga: Five Foot Two <\/em>for Best Music Documentary. 11) <\/strong>A new dating and community-building app for lesbians<\/a>, queer-trans<\/a>, non-binary queers, and others who have been marginalized in the LGBTQ community is seeking funding. Called\u00a0Personals, the app brings members of the LGBTQ community together through written messages and provides a platform for queer people who often are silenced such as queer POC, queer people from rural areas, people with disabilities, asexual folks, and more.
