Denver Police have identified Dylan Payne as the man<\/a> who stabbed Chris Huizar and Gabriel Roman while they were holding hands and\u00a0walking home from the Church nightclub. Towleroad reported on the attack<\/a> earlier today.<\/p>\n

ABC7 Denver reports<\/a>: \u2018A spokesperson with the Denver Police Department told Denver7 it is investigating the possibility that the attack was a biased-motivated crime. Dylan Payne, 24, faces investigation on first-degree assault charges. The alleged attack happened near the Church nightclub just before 1 a.m. Sunday, according to a probable cause statement for Payne\u2019s arrest and court records\u2026The page says the two were \u201csimply holding hands\u201d when Payne yelled at them, allegedly calling them \u201cf\u2014ing f\u2014\u2013s.\u201d The probable cause statement says Payne was yelling \u201chomophobic slurs\u201d at the men<\/a> and that he called them \u201cf\u2014\u2013s.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n

Huizar was stabbed in the neck. Roman was stabbed in the hand and the back. The couple<\/a> has\u00a0launched a GoFundMe account<\/a>\u00a0to pay for medical costs.<\/p>\n
