The Theta Tau fraternity at Syracuse University has been permanently expelled from campus for\u00a0the racist, homophobic, and anti-semitic video that got the chapter suspended this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Daily Orange reports<\/a>: \u201cThe fraternity\u2019s expulsion, announced in a video<\/a> sent in a campus-wide email, came three days after Syverud notified SU of Theta Tau\u2019s suspension. Syverud said the expulsion followed \u201cimmediate action\u201d taken by the university within two hours of receiving and authenticating the video<\/a>. SU refused to release the video<\/a>, but The Daily Orange obtained a recording of the video<\/a> and posted it on its website Wednesday.\u201d<\/p>\n The Daily Orange adds<\/a>:<\/p>\n The chancellor said on Saturday that the investigation of students involved in the video<\/a> has been pursued with \u201cspeed and with vigor.\u201d Since Wednesday, SU\u2019s Department of Public Safety has interviewed 38 people and will interview more in the next few days, he added.<\/p>\n DPS will begin recommending charges and making referrals to the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities by the end of the weekend, Syverud added.<\/p>\n Theta Tau had been suspended on Wednesday<\/a> and issued a lengthy apology and explanation for the video<\/a>.<\/p>\n The chapter said<\/a> that the video<\/a> \u201cwas a satirical sketch of an uneducated, racist, homophobic, misogynist, sexist, ableist and intolerant person\u201d and claimed that \u201cthe new members seen in the video<\/a> laughing at the horrible things being said were not laughing in concurrence with these beliefs, but in fact the opposite.<\/p>\n Says one member in the video<\/a>: \u201cI solemnly swear to always have hatred in my heart for n*****s, spIcs and most importantly, the f**king k*kes.\u201d<\/p>\n The video<\/a> includes simulations of oral sex<\/a>, masturbation, glory holes and drug use, and mock disabled people:\u00a0\u201cHe\u2019s drooling out of his mouth because he\u2019s retarded in a wheelchair.\u201d<\/p>\n At one point, another member tells others to \u201cGet together and [talk] about their significant others while drinking different wines and talking in gay<\/a> girly accents.\u201d<\/p>\n Watch the video<\/a>:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The post Theta Tau Fraternity Permanently Expelled from Syracuse U.
