Uganda\u2019s President Yoweri Museveni is warning citizens (above) not to engage in \u201coutsider\u201d practices like oral sex<\/a> because \u201cthe mouth is for eating.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cLet me take this opportunity to warn our people publicly,\u201d he said in a recent television appearance, \u201cabout the wrong practices indulged in and promoted by some of the outsiders.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOne of them is what they call<\/a> oral sex<\/a>,\u201d he continued. \u201cThe mouth is for eating. Not for sex<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Homosexuality has been illegal in Uganda since the Colonial era.<\/p>\n In recent years, legislators fought to pass what was familiarly known as the \u201ckill the gays<\/a>\u201d bill that would have made homosexual acts punishable by death. In 2013, a watered-down version of the law that threw out the death sentence and replaced it with life in prison was passed, but was later annulled by Uganda\u2019s Constitutional Court.<\/p>\n Museveni, a supporter of the bill, denied that the decision to scrap the law had anything to do with the U.S.-Africa Summit taking place soon after it was scrapped, and called\u00a0receiving foreign aid in exchange for the fair treatment of his country\u2019s LGBT community \u201csinful<\/a>\u201d after several countries said they would withhold aid in response to Uganda\u2019s persecution of LGBT people.<\/p>\n In 2014, Uganda\u00a0criminalized<\/a>\u00a0the transmission of HIV.<\/p>\n The post Ugandan President Wants to Ban Oral Sex: \u2018The Mouth is for Eating\u2019 \u2013 WATCH<\/a> appeared first on Towleroad<\/a>.<\/p>\n
