Justin Jones, a Libertarian running for an Arkansas House seat thinks \u201cfags are disgusting\u201d and expressed that sentiment on the Facebook post<\/a> of Hawaii resident Myah\u00a0Baeza who was offering sympathy for a gay<\/a> friend who couldn\u2019t donate blood because of discriminatory laws.<\/p>\n When called out for his slur by Baeza, Jones replied:\u00a0\u201cIf you don\u2019t think HIV\u00a0is created by homosexuality then you need education. That\u2019s the entirety of my post, for someone who wants free speech, you don\u2019t act like it. I shouldn\u2019t have said \u2018f\u2013s\u2019 should have said homosexuals. But I won\u2019t apologize of the moral of my comment, homosexuality is wrong, and shouldn\u2019t be publicly endorsed.\u201d<\/p>\n Local station KARK reported on the candidate\u2019s slur, and got this statement back from Jones:<\/p>\n \u201cI recently made a comment that was meant to be satire, but had FACTUAL meaning. In the new day of Social Media, we face backlash for every comment we make, which is putting \u2018Free Speech\u2019 at a price. The Aids Epidemic is a VERY big part of the LGBTQ Community. To not recognize that would be a \u2018Lie\u2019 to yourself and the LGBTQ Community. In this New Day of politics, we are recognizing the benefits of throwing away the old establishment, and how that didn\u2019t work. Today, we are bringing back \u2018FREEDOM OF SPEECH,\u2019 and protecting our 2nd amendment rights. That might be too much for some people, but that\u2019s why we\u2019re getting them out of Public Office. Let\u2019s get back to \u2018Making Arkansas Great Again.\u2019 Vote Justin Jones for State Representative, District 87.\u201d<\/p>\n He also posted the statement to Facebook.
