Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke about the company\u2019s focus on privacy in an interview<\/a> with Recode on Wednesday, and responded to questions about Facebook.<\/p>\n Said Cook: \u201cWe could make a ton of money if we monetized our customers, if our customers were our product.\u00a0We\u2019ve elected not to do that.\u00a0Privacy to us is a human right.\u00a0It\u2019s a civil liberty, and in something that is unique to America, this is like freedom of speech and freedom of the press and privacy is right up there for us. And so, we\u2019ve always done this.\u201d<\/p>\n Recode\u2019s Kara Swisher got some laughs when she responded to a comment Cook made about using Apple\u2019s products to watch porn.<\/p>\n Said Cook: \u201cWe don\u2019t subscribe to the view that you have to let everyone in that wants to or if you don\u2019t, you don\u2019t believe in free speech\u2026We\u2019re like the guy<\/a> in the corner store. What you sell in that store says something about you and if you don\u2019t want to sell that other thing you don\u2019t sell it. It doesn\u2019t mean that you can\u2019t use an iPhone to go to your browser and go to some porno site if you want to do that\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cNobody does that,\u201d interjected Swisher, causing the audience and Cook to crack up.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not making fun of it!\u201d, replied Cook.<\/p>\n He was then asked what he\u2019d do if he were Mark Zuckerberg.<\/p>\n Said Cook: \u201cWhat would I do?
