The upcoming coming-of-age-coming-out romance Love, Simon<\/em> is apparently a movie for everyone if the reactions from a set of adults who were shown the film are to be believed.<\/p>\n Followers pushed the \u2018Adults React\u2019 YouTube page to post a video<\/a> about the film, which sneak peeks tonight in selected theaters and premieres nationwide a week from tonight.<\/p>\n The verdict: it\u2019s a tearjerker.<\/p>\n Said one affected viewer: \u201cI came out in 1990 when I was 20 years old and there were no laws that protected gay<\/a> people and I can\u2019t believe that in only 27 years that a major movie production company has made a film so impactful\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Greg Berlanti (Dawson\u2019s Creek, Brothers & Sisters, Green Lantern, Everwood, Political Animals, Arrow, The Flash<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Legends of Tomorrow<\/em>) directed the film.<\/p>\n The film also features Katherine Langford, Jennifer Garner, Miles Heizer, and Tony Hale.<\/p>\n The film\u2019s synopsis:<\/p>\n Everyone deserves a great\u00a0love<\/span>\u00a0story. But for seventeen-year old\u00a0Simon<\/span>\u00a0Spier it\u2019s a little more complicated: he\u2019s yet to tell his family or friends he\u2019s gay<\/a> and he doesn\u2019t actually know the identity of the\u00a0anonymous classmate he\u2019s fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing.<\/p>\n Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who co-executive produce the new NBC show\u00a0This Is Us<\/em>, wrote the script.<\/p>\n Said Berlanti to EW<\/a>\u00a0about choosing to direct the film:\u00a0\u201cThere\u2019s this one section of the film where Simon imagines this one boy<\/a> and imagines them kissing underneath the mistletoe at Christmas. In every other major studio film, it\u2019s always the guy<\/a> and the girl<\/a>.
