Alec Baldwin\u2019s Trump opened Saturday Night Live<\/em> by convening a bipartisan meeting on gun control at which all the turmoil of the White House this week was laid bare. Two who were present at SNL\u2019s meeting, like the one at the White House this week, were Beck Bennett\u2019s Mike Pence and Cecily Strong\u2019s Dianne Feinstein, but of course the meeting was all about one person.<\/p>\n This week\u2019s cold open follows a week in which Baldwin and Trump exchanged barbs on Twitter.<\/p>\n Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch. Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and a far greater talent!<\/p>\n \u2014 Donald J. Rent \u2018Lego Ninjago Movie.\u2019 Sorry, Eric scribbled some notes on there, too.\u201d<\/p>\n And then it was on to gun control: \u201cIt\u2019s clear something has to change. We have to take a hard look at mental health, which I have so much of. I have one of the healthiest mental. My mentals are so high, but we have to respect the law. Believe me, no one love the Second Amendment and due process more than me, but maybe we just take everyone\u2019s guns.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI said I was going to run this country like a business,\u201d said Baldwin\u2019s Trump. \u201cThat business is a Waffle House at 2 am\u2026.Crazies everywhere, staff walking out in the middle of their shift, managers taking money out of the cash register to pay off the Russian mob.\u201d<\/p>\n Baldwin\u2019s Trump also addressed the departures of key staff, like Hope Hicks, which twisted Trump\u2019s tongue into a lecherous knot:\u00a0\u201cShe\u2019s like a daughter to me. So smart, so hot.
