Adam Rippon will work as a correspondent for NBC \u201con a variety of platforms, including television, digital and social media\u201d for the remainder of the Olympics, according to network spokesman Greg Hughes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rippon, who won his first Olympic medal last week,\u00a0was attacked by Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday night<\/a>\u00a0for speaking out about Vice President Mike Pence\u2019s anti-gay<\/a> record.<\/p>\n

Said Rippon earlier this week: \u201cBeing here at the Olympics it does give me a louder voice. And I\u2019ve got a big mouth and a loud voice. But it has given me a platform. I think it\u2019s so important that I use this platform to my advantage. I think that me using my voice has given my skating a greater purpose. I\u2019ve gotten so many messages from young kids all over the country that my story has resonated with them and it\u2019s incredibly powerful\u2026In the past week I\u2019ve heard a lot of people like, \u2018whoa, Adam Rippon should tone it down.\u2019 I can\u2019t tone it down. I\u2019m being me. And I\u2019m being myself. And I\u2019d be doing myself an injustice, and I\u2019d be doing an injustice to those kids who don\u2019t feel like they\u2019re comfortable to be themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, talking to reporters:\u00a0\u201cI talked to you about how I felt before the Games. And you know, it\u2019s brought a lot of attention and questions to my other teammates. I don\u2019t want to distract from their Olympic experience and I don\u2019t want my Olympic experience to be about Mike Pence.\u201d<\/p>\n
