<\/p>\nChristian Group Uses Pro-LGBT Language to Promote Harmful Gay Conversion Therapy<\/b>

A Christian media propaganda group has denied using pro-LGBT phrases and language to promote gay<\/a> conversion therapy.<\/span><\/p>\n In Anchored North<\/a>\u2019s video<\/a> \u201cLove Is Love,\u201d which has been viewed more than two million times on Facebook, a woman<\/a> named Emily talks about coming out to her parents. Her language suggests that god is on her side because \u201cgod is love.\u201d In the four-minute video<\/a>, Emily is engaged to a woman<\/a>. However, when she\u2019s invited to church and studies the bible, she tells the viewer that it \u201cscared me really badly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Using the term \u201cborn this way,\u201d she says that \u201cIt\u2019s not gay<\/a> to straight, it\u2019s lost to saved.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Denying that the video<\/a> promotes conversion therapy, Anchored North co-founder Greg Sukert told the Guardian<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHomosexuality, drunkenness, sexual promiscuity, rape, all of these things are manifestations of the true problem which is the deceitful and wicked heart that all people are born with.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe message of someone changing their attraction or desires is not the same as conversion therapy. That whole thing is the use of psychotherapy to alter someone\u2019s behavior, which is not what we\u2019re communicating. What we\u2019re saying is God changes the heart.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n However, Deb Cuny, a spokeswoman for the <\/span>#BornPerfect<\/span><\/a> campaign and a conversion therapy survivor, said:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI want to expose all the different subtle practices of the church that don\u2019t have the label of conversion therapy, but clearly are.
