Aziz Ansari<\/a> has responded to allegations of sexual assault made against him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The actor – best know for starring in \u2018Parks And Recreation\u2019<\/a> and creating and starring in \u2018Master Of None\u2019<\/a> – was accused of assaulting an anonymous 23-year-old photographer, who came forward with her story.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In her account, which she called the encounter the \u201cworst experience with a man<\/a> I\u2019ve ever had\u201d, she detailed how after a date with Aziz, he took her back to his apartment and she became \u201cuncomfortable\u201d with his advances.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking to Babe<\/a>, she said: \u201cMost of my discomfort was expressed in me pulling away and mumbling.\u00a0I know that my hand stopped moving at some points. I stopped moving my lips and turned cold. I know I was physically giving off cues that I wasn\u2019t interested. I don\u2019t think that was noticed at all, or if it was, it was ignored.\u201d<\/p>\n

She claimed after she repeatedly told him she did not want to have sex<\/a>, she left his apartment and \u201ccried the whole way home\u201d having felt \u201cviolated\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Aziz has now issued a statement on the matter, which read:\u00a0\u201cIn September of last year, I met a woman<\/a> at a party. We exchanged numbers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe texted back and forth and eventually went on a date. We went out to dinner, and afterwards we ended up engaging in sexual activity, which by all indications was completely consensual.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cThe next day, I got a text from her saying that although \u2018it may have seemed okay\u2019, upon further reflection, she felt uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was true that everything did seem okay to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded: \u201cI took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI continue to support the movement that is happening in our culture. It is necessary and long overdue.\u201d<\/p>\n

The woman<\/a> said she came forward with her story after seeing Aziz become the first Asian-American actor ever to win a Golden Globe for acting in a TV show at last Sunday\u2019s awards, where he was seen wearing a pin in support of the Time\u2019s Up<\/a> movement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
