Olly Murs Throws Shade At ‘X Factor’, Hailing ‘The Voice’ As ‘The Best Show He’s Worked On’<\/b>
\nOlly Murs has made a subtle dig at his old stomping ground at\u00a0\u2018The X Factor\u2019 by declaring \u2018The Voice\u2019\u00a0\u201cthe best show I\u2019ve worked on\u201d.<\/p>\n

After finishing in second place in the 2009 \u2018X Factor\u2019 final, Olly went on to host spin-off show \u2018Xtra Factor\u2019 for two years, later presenting the main show alongside Caroline Flack in 2015, before they were dropped after one series.<\/p>\n

He has now joined the new series of rival talent show \u2018The Voice\u2019 as a coach, and it sounds like it\u2019s an experience he\u2019s enjoying far more.<\/p>\n

Speaking at The Voice\u2019s press launch, Olly said: \u201cI\u2019m loving it. I really am enjoying every moment and I want to sit here and say thank you to all the editing team and producers because it\u2019s so much fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the best show I\u2019ve worked on for a fact, so I\u2019m loving that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked what \u2018The Voice\u2019 had over \u2018The X Factor\u2019, he cheekily responded: \u201cWe can\u2019t compare. I will only say this – let\u2019s compare when we\u2019ve finished the season and let\u2019s see how good our winner is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following reports Simon Cowell had failed to make contact with him after he jumped ship, Olly believes the music mogul will not be happy when he sees how good the show is.<\/p>\n

Asked if he contacted Simon before taking the job or whether his old boss had reached out to him, Olly said: \u201cI\u2019m just going to say no and no. None of that happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, I\u2019m just going to say, you make your own decisions in life and ever since I left \u2018The X Factor\u2019, I\u2019ve always made my own.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen \u2018The Voice\u2019 came calling, [I thought] \u2018yeah, I want to do this\u2019, because it is an incredible show. Being among these amazing coaches, I\u2019m going to learn loads and grow as a character, and I want to help people.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t heard from Simon. I only read what [journalists] like to write. Simon knows where I am and he\u2019s got my telephone number, so he knows how to reach me.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he wants to call<\/a> me, we can have a chat<\/a> but he probably won\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI saw him at the ITV Gala recently and he said it was good to see me and that was it. I was like, \u2018OK, cool\u2019. But he\u2019s going to watch the show and he ain\u2019t going to be happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
